As we have been linked with pretty much every player that has ever touched a football, the question has to be asked who wants to play for Leicester City? I for one have been really impressed with Sven as he seems to understand that this is the number one priority and has mentioned it time and time again in interviews. He only wants players who want to play for us. I would suggest that this is possibly why we are linked with so many players as Sven has little time for people umming and arrghing in signing a contract and simply moves on to the next target. We have to be a viable prospect to most players as we have the Manager, Stadium, backing and most importantly Fanbase to attract them here. It does seem though you have to be prepared to pay over the odds to get them to sign, as agents are becoming more and more adept in touting their players. I hope that we find the balance between finding players who want to play for us and compete for a place in the premier league and paying over the odds for players who are obviously talented but looking for a large a paycheck.

Hard one to answer - we are a sizeable club and enough to impress someone moving up a league or in the lower stretches of the championship. Anyone else then LCFC isn't enough - they will want the security of several factors such as wages, signing on fee, management structure and ambition. Of course even someone like Peltier would want these things but it's like a system of pulleys attatched to a player and some pulleys will have more weight in accordance to the players situation and desire. I don't really but the whole fanbase thing as that's just standard clap trap that players spout once they have signed to ingratiate themselves to the fans. Look at clubs over the years that have signed big names whilst having (at that time) smaller fan bases like Blackburn Wigan Wimbledon. Nobody would just want to simply play for us they would need to come and talk and make a decision with what other clubs are offering.

Agree with you. The days of wanting to play for your hometown club have long gone and the days of mercenarys are here to stay unfortunately. I firmly believe though that in this day and age the name of the manager is incredibly important at this level. Players want to play for a manager with a reputation, the likes of Sven and Big Sam are big attractants that can develop and promote players careers. I only really see the Hammers as our competition in the transfer market in this division as the so called bigger clubs best days are firmly behind them.

I'm pretty sure we could make up a decent team made with people on here. Commitment and wages wouldn't be a problem, talent might!!!

As already posted 'on another site': Pick me, I'm brilliant in goal, perhaps Sol_the_wall_bamba will log on and tell you all about 'the save'. Modesty forbids me telling the story, but it was compared favourably with 'that' save by Banks in the World Cup. Unfortunately I dislocated my shoulder 10 minutes later, and have now retired - but for the City, I could be persuaded!

I used to be a half-decent full back except at the age of 35 I played my first game of the season against Countesthorpe - no-one ever outpaced me but they did that day. I was given the right royal runaround by a young 18 year old. I got half way through the game and thought **** this so I feigned a groin strain to save my pride....I pulled out of the side and hung me boots up, never to play again. No one in the team knows what I did to this day - this is a bit of a confession...where's Simon Mayo? Having said that I'd play for the boys in blue, no hesitation

As right back is taken I will be a hard tackling (read illegal tackling) defensive midfielder.

I will take central defence although at 39 i might get out paced a little,:emoticon-0111-blush so need a young whipper snapper to play along side me! just in case the odd forward gets through. But on the positive side if steveherbe gets injured can always cover in goal.:emoticon-0103-cool:

    I'll play. Right winger me!!
But back to the main point. It's interesting as I think many players as you point out would be incentivised with the manager, ambition, facilities etc... BUT could players be concerned that given all the money, that signing for us this early in the summer window risks them being surpless to requiremnts in case we buy someone else to play in their position. i.e. ala Waghorn. Take Peltier for example, looks a good prospect and the Hudders fans have nothing but praise for him but I'm convinced sven needs another RB at the club so Peltier has risked being a bench warmer.

Stour me & you holding in midfield then! As at 37 and F**@&@ ankles I would not be doing too much running

ALthough I am upto level 2 coaching so could just sit it out and shout a lot from the side!!

I will play but i can only guarantee a few things

    1. I will put in more effort then Yakubu
    2. I will play better then Robbie Neilson
    3. I wont wimp out of tackles like Curtis Davies
    4. I wont have a massive ego like Jeff Bruma
    5. I wont look total clueless like Ricardo
    6. I will show more passion and commitment then Van Aanholt
    7. But i may end out like Ben Mee and smash players and give penos away
