I would have thought that tremmel is nailed on to start, young stephen kingsley should start at left back.centre backs would be an interesting problem for monk if he wants to try a n ash, fernandez combination, or does he give Bartley a run out? Mid field is anyones guess after shelveys showing yesterday, but I would have thought tom caroll will come in.montero and gomis look likley to start, a much changed side, but still not looking too shabby.........................tremmel, rangel fernandez, ash, kingsley, carrol, ki, siggy, montero, Routledge, gomis....
I'd start with pretty much our strongest 11, but give Montero and Gomis a start. Bring Fernandez on at a point assuming he's fit enough.
Not sure of lineup but my suspicion is that Monk will pout out a much weaker team - not knocking him at all but I think he'll say **** the cups this season.
Sureley youve got to give players like tremmel game time he could after all be called on in a premier league match at a moments notice
I just hope Monk takes both cups seriously... there'll be changes for this one obviously as it gives others game time and keeps the squad happy. If we're in both cups you never know... a good draw is always a possibility.
My guess is that we will start with half the first team playing (who, is anyone's guess) and if we progress in the competition then eventually we will get the full first team nearer the sharp end. Tremmel is the only definate for me, probably Gomis and Montero to start as others have said.
I think Monk will go with Tremmel Dwight Amat Bartley Taylor (capt) Bray Jazz Shelvey Montero Gomis Shehan Rangel, Ash, Ki & Siggy on call for when things go **** up
I don't think he will for this game , he needs to have a game plan and team in his mind for Saturday ,we had a let off against Burnley and he'll want to put that right by the next league game .With no injuries from Saturday so I'd expect a very similar line up with perhaps Shelvey (obvious sacrifice ) but with who ? and possibly a start for Gomis and Montero
-------------------------- 24) Gerhard Tremmel ------------------------------ ------------- 14) Federico Fernandez ------ 15) Kyle Bartley --------------------- 12) Dwight Tiendalli ------------------------------------- 13) Stephen Kingsley --------------------- 22) Jazz ---------- 20) Tom Carroll ----------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alex Bray --------------- 23) Marvin Emnes ----------- 21) Jefferson Montero -------------------------- 19) Bafetimbi Gomis -------------------------------- .....Maybe Jazz at right-back and Sheehan in midfield.
whoever he selects will be what he regards as good enough to win the game. I suspect a few changes but not many...
Id give the players a game that are probably lacking a bit of confidence for this one. So id start taylor and shelvey. Also id start with fab in goals. Hes new to the team and the more games he plays the quicker it will take for him to adapt. I've read his distribution isnt the best yet? With that my team would be: ................Fab....................... Tiendali...Amat...Fernandez....Taylor .........Carrol.............Jazz.............. Routs.........Shelvey............Montero .................Gomis...................... Thats still a strong side but with balance too. Depending on how the game is going id then bring on Kingsley in the second half. EDIT - Ki out, Carrol in. See what hes got.
didn't even see this thread before I put the otherone up, merge pls or just delete mine would be easier
I would personally only tinker slightly with the team with gomis and montero starting with routs and bony on the bench, start bartley with another depending on training recently my team would be fab, taylor, bartley, ash, tiendalli, carroll, shelvey, montero, siggy, dyer, gomis. The bench then tremmel, jazz, fernandez, bray, shehan, routs, bony. Rest rangel, ki and amat we know what they can do
