Romeu/Ramires should be central. I am fine with Mikel playing as long as it's not with Frank.

Frank should be the player to come on if we need to score. that's the part he's good at.

Agree. Start Rom/Ram bring on Lamps/Oscar for goal. Mikel if we are winning to sit deep to let the opposition back in the match.

    Reality: Lamps Mikel v 6PR

Is Ramires disciplined enough to play in the pivot though? He's best played in the center in a 4-3-3 formation.

    It's a hard one.

I feel Ramires will get caught out in possession too much if he plays in the pivot.

We just have to hope Oscar can adapt quickly.

Not when he first came he didn't, I think he became a bit complacent/overconfident and started to dwell too long and get caught out. Methinks that a good talking too by the coaching staff and/or senoir players they could iron out that fault, he would then be the ideal candidate as he proved in his first few games for us.

It was the injury, kept him out for a while then when he came back we'd totally changed our system/formation. Romeu was class in AVB's 4-3-3 but looked sluggish under Robbie, particularly against Arsenal (you know, the game where Wenger said we 'locked' the game completely and created 'zero' chances compared to Arsenal despite have virtually identical stats)

Romeu isn't ready. Surprised he hasn't made sub appearances yet but if he does I imagine he could start starting around December. He's had a massive lay off (injury coupled with management change and Olympics I reckon). Though if his early promise wasn't just a bit of a fluke then he could end up being very useful.

Frank does not work in a 4-2-3-1 unless he's playing behind the striker, which he is no longer suited to. If you want to play Frank it should be in a 4-3-3, but we appear to have discarded that formation for now at least.

Ramires does not have the passing ability that Frank or Romeu have, but he has the energy to compensate for the lack of mobility in Mikel, Romeu and Frank. Due to this I definitely think he should be played in the pivot.

Mikel is defensively solid and does not lose possession, and is also one of our most accurate passers. He's not as slow in realeasing as people believe, as you can only get the ball out as fast as the other pivot player moves (which when it's Lampard, is not very fast). Because of this, I reckon Ramires Mikel will be the flourishing holding partnership for now.

Oscar is not a holding player end of.

Do you not think that he had to do that because of the style we played and the players we had? No one was ready or able for the quick one touch pass. Now we have players who want and can use the ball much quicker.

    Why not David Luiz??????

The guy is defensive minded but has the ability to drive the ball forward, plus can pass and shoot (Mikel take note)

And he has the one thing that all our central midfielders lack ,pace!!!!!!

With Azpi coming in at RB and then we have Ivanovic, Cahill and Terry to cover the central defensive positions

    QPR team

    Cech

    Azpilicueta - Ivanovic/Cahill - Terry - Cole

    Mikel/Romeu - Luiz

Hazard - Mata - Marin (if fit)

    Torres

I think we should play Azpi at full back as QPR may put Hoilett out there to utilise hi pace against Ivanovic, and a toss up between Cahill/Ivanovic and between Romeu/Mikel, and then we have Lampard, Ramires and either Sturridge or Moses on the bench

I'd try Juan Mata in there. Similar to what Fulham did with Dembele. We really missed out in the summer by not bringing a deep lying playmaker in and i feel Mata could do that as we have lots of cover for the 3 attacking midfield positions.

Does he have that defensive discipline, the thing that seems to evade Frank. Remember Juan was a winger when he started and has only in the last year or two converted into a central role

Should have singed Song or Fellaini
