Right as you might guess competition is hot for the remaining Centre Midfield slot in the all time Saints XI.

Just give me 5 names that should be included in the poll and I will count the ten players that have been named the most.

Is this obsession healthy, FLT? While I accept your view that you are always slightly insane - and a good thing that is too - I worry that you are working too hard.

    My five:

    Morgan Schneiderlin
    Morgan Schneiderlin
    Morgan Schneiderlin
    Morgan Schneiderlin
    Morgan Schneiderlin

Ah merde! That bloody song has got to me.

    OK

    Morgan Schneiderlin
    Steve Williams
Terry Paine (what? Come on, he bossed the midfield in the late 60's and early 70's)
    David Armstrong
    Victor Wanyama

Interesting that you put David Armstrong in the CM, as I nearly added him thee too. He was in the LM slot for this but I always remembered him roving everywhere.

Jack Charlton (pause for adoration of a true great) said of Armstrong when he was selected for England that he was quite simply a great midfield player who didn't fanny about. This was clearly in contrast to Trevor Brooking and Ray Wilkins who were, in the words of a paper at the time, "class rubbish".
