As this season enters its final phase who do you nominate as the Swans Player of the Season?

For me it's between two . The Legend that is Leon and the Mountain that is Wilfried .

Leon is for me the heartbeat of midfield , how this guy has never had representative honours is criminal !

Wilfried is like a one man tank regiment he holds the ball, defenders bounce off him, he has a no back lift shot, seems to be able to defy

gravity and scores one or two.

    Well ? Whose your choice?

    Wilfred for me!

Just because without him I think we'd be in a much worse position than we are in now!

Yep, between Leon & Bony for me as well, Routs filling up my top three.

    Wilfried
Although I know no one will agree I believe Chico has been the most constant player at a high level throughout the season. Most others have had good and bad patches.

Good point Bob! Dyer, before his injury, JDG of lately, Canas in the autumn even Pozuelo and Shelvey Have had good spells. If it comes down to consistency, which I believe it shouldn't, I'd go for Rangel, who is badly missed, when he isn't there...

Its a tough one for me, Bony would be the obvious choice, he has after all scored many important goals, and his hold up play has gotten better and better, but.......he did take a while to settle in, and his touch at times still lets him down, but he is getting more accustomed to our way of playing, and I really hope he can stay injury free next season and push on (i say injury free, due to Michu's second season).

You also have Britton, but he hasn't been a regular starter (mainly under ML)

So for me it has to be Routledge. I don't like some of the things he does, I find myself screaming at him on times to hold his width (he likes narrowing the play too much when he doesn't have the ball) but he has been, for me the most consistent player from start to finish this season.

But then I also have to consider Chico, I mean he is suspect to the odd cock up, but he is so bloody strong and cuts out so many potential opportunities for the opposition, he alone has won us important points with his defensive duties.

Ok Im stuck, Chico or Routledge for me.

Leon without doubt, followed by Bony, Routledge, and Dyer!.......................<ok>

Honorary mention for Huw Jenkins, for clearing out the deadwood and getting us back on track!...........<laugh>

I concur with most - Wilf or Leon, then Routs, Nathan. It'll be interesting to revisit at the end of the season, especially the way JdG's playing right now.

Bony or Leon with JDG getting most improved if he keeps going like this until end of season.

It's no coincidence though that since Leon has started every game under Monk we have played much better. Without him, our passing game falls to pieces. For that reason, I'd plump for Leon.
Joe for me isn't good enough for a Liverpool side challenging for titles yet and I expect them to buy a world class midfielder in the summer so maybe we could try and get him back if he is surplus to requirements.

Bony for me. The guy has been a revelation since he achieved full fitness. He's got goals, he's made assists, he leads the line brilliantly with his brutal holdup play that brings others into play; oh, and he's also our best header of a ball in defence where he works his socks off. His presence has added all sorts of dimensions to our play not least the fact that his aerial ability allows our wide men to cross the ball with confidence rather than hope. Bony by a country mile for me.

This is not to detract from other excellent contributions from Leon (as usual), Routs (superb on his day but can be inconsistent), and Chico (makes his mistakes along with others but does a hell of a lot of unnoticed work with his positional play and interceptions - our TOP defender on all the stats).

Guys Bony is the easy pick for his goals. Just a little surprised that there is no mention of Shelvey. When he is not there we miss the steel and energy he brings our midfield. Yes he has made the odd error, but so has quite a few of our players. I for one think we dont half miss him when he is out.

So my top3 are Shelvey< Bony and leon. In which order i dont know.

Good point about Wilfs defensive attributes Ivor ! How many times has he cleared the lines from dead ball situations ?
