Sir Alex Ferguson believes David Moyes will be a success at Manchester United and should be given time to improve the team. Moyes has been widely criticised for the job he has done at Old Trafford since replacing Ferguson at the helm during the summer. United, who are not playing this weekend, are seventh in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Chelsea by a huge margin of 18 points - and are on the verge of Champions League elimination following their 2-0 defeat to Olympiakos in Athens. Missing out on European football is a very real prospect for United, who were knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea and the Capital One Cup by Sunderland - both at Old Trafford. They are also 12 points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City and face an uphill battle to secure Champions League qualification through their league placing. Despite several failures, Ferguson - who went from 1986 until 1990 before delivering his first trophy at Old Trafford - feels Moyes can be a success and feels he should be given adequate time to make his mark. "They (United) will be all right," said Ferguson, speaking in Los Angeles at a party thrown by British Consul-General Chris O'Connor ahead of the Oscars. "It's early days and there have been a lot of changes. He (Moyes) needs time. I was there for 27 years, so with a new manager, it takes time. But they'll be okay." http://www1.skysports.com/football/...david-moyes-to-be-a-manchester-united-success
It's obvious that Fergie won't admit he made a mistake nominating Moyes to take his place and going off what he said it looks like he's attending games in support of Moyes rather than the club. Fergie's ongoing influence at Utd is a negative rather than a positive force.
"Fergie's ongoing influence at Utd is a negative rather than a positive force. " If he pushed the Mata deal over the line though.......... Oh yeah see what you're saying please log in to view this image Cat that got the cream > please log in to view this image What the **** have I done
He is right though. Moyes needs to rebuild a team by selling some of our under performing players and signing new players. He did say that he is going to sell some players in the summer and he is planning to make more then 3 signings. Once he rebuilds the team, we should be good. We're just going through a transition period, it's not the first time, even with Sir Alex we had gone through season without any trophy. We'll always come back, that is Man Utd. Let the haters laugh, just because after many years, we are having one really bad season, they just taking advantages of that, we'll be back to shut them up like we always do. i know some people says no big and great players would come to a team who is not in the champions league, well if Liverpool can get great players like Suarez, while Liverpool who have been absolute **** in the last 20 years apart from one or two good years, if they can get great players like Suarez, when they haven't been i the champions league for years, if they can get them, why can't we Manchester United get them? of course we will.
Yeah but Suarez has become better since signing for us, we uncovered a gem I think under Moyes dont be expecting what you've had
I still think Moyes is the right man. Give him time, we will know the real Man Utd depending on what happens in the summer. Everything went wrong for us this season. we had to play most of the season with Rooney and RVP our best players injured, defender's injured too, Key defender's like Rafeal has also been injured meaning we had to play a cb at right back. well there are some good signs, Rooney's future has been confirmed and also by judging Rooney's interview, there will be some rebuilding and new players coming through. Rooney wouldn't of signed the contract if Man Utd won't be successful.
We made Suarez a great player, any of the big CL teams could have bought him but they thought he wasn't good enough.
He was already an international and was leading goalscorer in Holland when we got him, 22m was a fair price.
