Who is the fastest Newcastle United player? (Sprint speed)

This is pure sprint speed btw, not agility. And i'm not including Ben Arfa in this as he hasn't played enough.

I'd say it was Peter Lovenkrands. He may not be as sharp on the ball, but he'd win in a straight sprinting race. He's still extremely fast in that aspect.

Jose by a country mile, fastest player ive ever seen at the toon and thats saying something! He's probs one of the fastetst players in the prem! Lover lover has lost all of his pace over the last few seasons...

Jose by a mile. He's got Dyer and Bellamy levels of pace.

 

Tiote isn't that quick, he just has a low centre of gravity and small-ish legs! He appears to run fast, like Scotty Parker used to do. I think Ranger is the quickest but he's really tall so doesn't take as many steps to cover the same ground as Jose or Lover.

 

Yes i know mate, i for one am always making the point that just because your legs are moving quickly, doesn't mean you're a fast sprinter. Like Walcott and Lennon are both extremely over rated pace wise.

 

Tiote is quick. It's his acceleration. There was a moment against Arsenal (at home) where he just seemed to morph 20 yards down the field. He looked like Fox off Super Smash Bros.

 

Jose any day of the week. As mentioned Walcott got outpaced by him and I have yet to see anybody play against Enrique who had the beating of him for pace.

Well, they're the two examples i wouldn't use. Walcott and Lennon are rarely matched pace-wise but I agree with your point. Tiote is fast but Jose and Lover are both quicker I think. Lover doesn't do it as often but he's frightened me a couple of times when he's played the offside trap a tad late, he just ignites and lets fly! Really impressive for a 32(?)yr old. Ranger is a full on athlete too, when he belts forward he's out paced pretty much everyone I've seen so far so he'd get my vote.
