I have just read the Louis Carey article in the Post and it got me thinking, who are the rats that want to leave our club, who is Louis pointing the finger at...?

    Could it be...?

    Pearson
    Adomah (Middlesborough)
    Eliott
    Fontaine
    Taylor

Who ever it is lets get them out, nobody is too good to play for our cause....

If it's Albert then it's probably the agent doing the stirring. As for the rest they can all leave.
I'm now less confident as the days pass and more players leave. I think a top 6 finish might actually be a big ask....

i think we could comfortably lose all the above 5.
The future is Kelly, Pack, Balders, Flint and Cunny

Louis Carey is one of our all-time greats, but I think these kind of comments are toxic for the dressing room.

It's not really Carey's place to be calling out his team mates, nor is it his job to be his managers lackey.

I don't believe for a second that some of those names would call out the manager. I also don't believe that Adomah would get ****ty for his agent not getting him back to the Championship. Finally, Kilkenny loves SOD, and under him he's put in a few decent performances.

I hope Carey has also given some of the passengers on thousands a week the roasting of their lives away from the media.

Last season saw professional athletes being unable to run back towards their own goal, get in shape etc. Sunday league teams are more organised. Organisation depends on collective effort. One particularly bad, but highly rated apple is still there.

The repetition in private and in public has to be that it is not acceptable.

A gentle ribbing of the lazy and players who lack honesty sometimes is not enough.

    F*** me gently.

Carey went to Coventry City when it suited him, Kettle pot black etc.

Perhaps Bristol City and football in general is finally beginning to move away from the Victorian mentality - Keep everything secret and inside the dressing room, Gaffers etc - that industry and commerce threw out decades ago.

I personally give him a pat on the back for having the courage to say such a thing in public, because it is fair and reasonable to say that with Heaton, Gerken, Nyatanga, Skuse, Davies, Anderson, probably Adomah, all having now signed for Championship teams, we should have done a lot better last season than we actually did.

Fontaine is certainly capable of performing better than he has for the last three seasons and it is my opinion that Carey's comments are aimed at him in particular and maybe one or two others like Kilkenny and Elliott.

I should also say that this is pure guesswork on my part, because I don't have any inside knowledge or contacts at City. I believe that SO'D's team and subs bench tomorrow may give us an insight into who the bad apples are.

And finally, I now withdraw any insinuations I made in the past that Louis Carey had any part in the "dressing room" unrest because to be as blunt as this, he would have needed to change his spots completely and very few people are capable of such a sea change as this.

Changing one's employer in pursuit of job satisfaction or increased salary is not a reason to criticise anyone. Carey's comments are about the effort or lack of it that was rampant throughout the squad last season!

And it takes a lot of bottle to come back and thereby admit that it did not work out as expected. Likewise for Scott Murray.

Well done Louis there were players cheating fans and club last season again. I would expect O'driscoll is sending him out as a trusted charge. Tell people what we expect.

To be fair to Louis you are taking what he said slightly out of context.

As it happens I fully agree with what LC said and I think it came from the manager ie pull your socks up and play my way or you are out the door. LC has a lot of interest in Bristol City yes he left to get more money but he returned as soon as he realised there was more to being happy with your lot than a fat wage packet, Now I don't know this first hand but I was told by someone still at AG that when Louis, and remember he asked to come back, returned from Coventry he took a 33% pay cut not what you do if you are only interested in money.

'Carey's comments are about the effort or lack of it that was rampant throughout the squad last season!'

"If there are lads who don't want to be here and don't want to buy into what we are trying to do, then they can do one of two things''

Exactly what he did, joined another club.

'They can tear up their contract and leave if being here is that big a problem' -

What - like Junior and Hunt. Players don't do that and Carey knows it.
He's a 'yes man' looking for employment down the line and become a puppet for the men in charge.

I wouldn't go that far with Carey. My issue with his comments are that it's not his place to make them. In regards to the dressing room, he is not the captain, and in my books not even a first-team choice. For me, his status in the squad is completely equal to everyone else.

Making these kind of comments will put us on a similar road to last year. It will set rifts in a squad that SOD desperately wants to gel. To be frank, Carey is a part of the problem, and not SOD's solution. I feel he was offered a contract out of courtesy, rather than ability, and although I think he could do well in League 1 I think most people will agree that if Carey didn't have hundreds of appearances behind him he'd probably be released after last season.

Carey needs to keep his opinion to himself, and to stick to actions on the field. His comments will only divide the existing squad.

Carey left Bristol City because local players were not given parity to others in the squad. Loyalty was not being rewarded.

He openly admitted his leaving was a mistake.

Ridiculous parallel to Nicky Hunt. Carey fractured his skull, ran through walls for BCFC and got the very best from his ability.
