I think both have a lot left to offer. SG was VG in Euro 2012. FL was VG in CL 2012. Both have been disappointing in the Prem recently. Ironically, they could probably play better for England together now, than ever before!
Not at all It's always been the same, Gerrard always has the ability to change the game technically and is the more attractive player to watch on the ball but now he's lost both of these attributes. Granted Lamps has fallen in ability aswell but he'll still bag a hatful of goals as proved last season - even from a deeper position!
tbf, I've always rated them equally in terms of 'who's better' out of the two over the years but Lamps has definitely held out a lot longer. Gerrard did have a brilliant Euros though, you're right there.
At this moment in time i'd take Gerrard over Lampard for OUR team. Still think Lampard has more to offer but he is really ****ing our whole team balance and tempo up atm and i think Gerrard would actually do his job instead of bombing forward at every oppurtunity and trying to play 2nd striker
Always thought Lampard is the better player out of the two. Both have different abilities. There is another side to Lampards game that's unoticed which is his excellent long ball passing from open play and dead ball from set plays. He has created many of Drogbas goals
Haven't watched Chelsea much yet this year... but for us Gerrard is having the worst season I've ever seen him have... even his ten foot passes don't find the target. Historically I would say Gerrard is better... but unless Lampard has suddenly become dross he is better than Gerrarf now.
Right now Gerard is well out of any form. Lampard is not playing badly, but he doesn't suit our new attack minded style terribly well, or maybe he just needs to play a different role because he has plenty to offer. No contest, Lampard is currently the better player.
