Jamie McAllister and David James lead a list of eight players who have been informed their current contracts will not be renewed this summer.

The experienced duo will depart, meaning the end 2007 promotion-winner Jamie's six-year spell at Ashton Gate, and the departure of former England number one David after two seasons.

Scotland international Jamie made 210 appearances for the club and was instrumental in the club's promotion to the Championship, as well as reaching the play-off final a year later at Wembley.

The former Hearts and Aberdeen left-back spent time on loan at Preston North End earlier this year before returning to play a part in City's successful battle for survival in the Championship.

Keeper David's career moves towards another chapter after 84 outings over two campaigns for City. The 53-cap ex-England star, who lists Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City amongst his former clubs, must now decide whether to continue playing elsewhere or look towards coaching.

Elsewhere, David Clarkson and Jamal Campbell-Ryce - with a number of first-team appearances between them - have been informed their futures lie away from BS3.

Christian Ribeiro is one of four players produced by the club's Academy to leave, with Marlon Jackson, Dan Ball and Henry Muggeridge heading out.

It means eight players depart in total, with two further players with their futures unclear.

Kalifa Cisse has told the club he would like to look at his options as a free agent, although City haven't given up hope of retaining the Mali international's services.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway, who has enjoyed a loan spell at Bath City earlier this season, has been offered the opportunity of a short-term deal to prove himself.Meanwhile, four other players have been offered new terms.

Louis Carey, the veteran of 625 appearances - the second-highest in the club's history - has been offered the chance to stay for another season.

Stephen Pearson, who joined on loan from Derby County in November before turning the deal permanent two months later, has also been offered a new deal.

Joe Edwards and Lewis Carey, the youth keeper, have also both been offered new contracts.

All six of the club's recent loan players - Jordan Spence (West Ham), Hogan Ephraim (QPR), Andre Amougou (Burnley), Ryan McGivern (Manchester City), Dekel Keinan (Cardiff City), Chris Wood (West Brom) - have now returned to their parent clubs.

All other players remain in contract for next season or beyond.
