Does anyone have the opinion some of my mates have (who are all Leeds fans) that this consortium is merely a front / smokescreen for another Bates fiddle??
Are they merely Bates' muppets & he is still the Grand Puppeteer pulling all the strings?
Nothing seems to have changed from when he was the sole Dictator, & why oh why make him the life President of our Club when he hates us & we detest him? Not the actions of a Board trying to win over its fans, but one trying to pander to a Panda!
Dont they realise that while ever he is associated with Leeds in whatever form, a significant number of fans will continue to stay away from Elland Road?
I think there was an expectation that there would be a deluge of fans flockng back to games after Bates had taken £52m, but I fear that deluge will only materialise when he is no longer utilising natural oxygen in the air, i.e. dead & buried.

"I think there was an expectation that there would be a deluge of fans flockng back to games after Bates had taken £52m"

It's Bates' policies that need to change. Whether that be ticket prices or the way we conduct business in the transfer market, or a mixture of both. There was talk from Blackburn fans that once Steve Kean was removed, the fans would return to Ewood Park, but that certainly isn't the case.

Value for money is the main determinant for crowds at Elland Road, hence the attendance against Chelsea, League cup 1/4 final, Premier League team/players, rivals and a decent atmosphere.

The key to getting the fans back on side is the transfers of players in to the club, if GFH are serious they need to show there hand sooner rather than later if not we will all just believe nothing has changed, I like the fact we have signed tonge but if he is going to be our marquee January signing then there will be trouble at mill as my grandad used to say, I also think they need to be more upfront about how they see the future of the club is NW going to retire in summer, if so are we already planning for a new manager ?, these are just a couple of the points they need to clarify.

I guess I'm in line with the thinking on this thread. Nowt has fundamentally changed. And we have no announcements of what we can expect in the future. You don't spend £52m or whatever unless you have detailed plans and policies. So where are they?

It all has a definite whiff of Bates about it (and perhaps even GFH aren't aware they're a front!).

    'You don't spend 52m if...'

Well, they seemingly didn't spend 52m.

Cheeky git - I further added 'or whatever' before the 'if'.

How exactly is an established Bahrain/Dubai investment bank a cover for Ken Bates? They're not some mysterious company no-one had ever heard of before.

KB could actually be the 'investor' that they represent. Wild speculation, but it is KB, after all!

This is a good comment. Due to the legacy of recent years we have become very impatient. Yet I for one gave Bates a long time - years, in fact - before I concluded for certain that he was not able to offer fans what I considered a fair deal.

At the very least I am going to give this new lot the benefit of the doubt until the end of the summer.

I think this is conspiracy theory gone mad. But.......................the thought I have though is whether KB has a bit more financial skin in the outcome still, than he would have if he'd sold up completely. I still can't understand the reason for keeping him on.

But main investor, I can't believe. Why bother? It might confuse the fans but would KB care about that?
