Who is our potential summer striker (or is JM just toying) ... and do you agree with Jose? Should we have bought an(other) emergency striker to push City in the title race.
Diego Costa in my opinion. Offers the bullish striker type we need. And he has a good price for his value in the market at only 32m. A lot of the tabs are stating that Lukaku will be the one to make way, but I think if we sent Torres to Atletico to knock the price down, got some money (about10m) for Ba and brought Lukaku back, then we would save a lot of money and increase our quality and potential in attack. As for Eto'o, he could stay another year although for me it is not necessary as I am sure Schurrle and Salah could double up as 3rd choice striker
Have to say that's what I would like to see as well. Lukaku has so much to offer surely he deserves a shot with our great players behind him. He is scoring well in a team playing the same opposition as us, but without the back up of talent that we have.
I just think that 3 striker, in a formation that we play, is too many anyway. Salah and Schurrle offer that role if required, and the wages of Torres, Ba and Eto'o would be much higher than just Lukaku and Costa's. Scenario is win win for the club on and off the pitch, which as Jose has stated, is what we have to adhere to.
Ironic that the reason united fans claim they did not want Jose was because of his short termism and Moyes would build a long term plan. At the moment united are doing the panic buying with Mata and Jose claims that he did not want a stopgap striker just to boost this season's title challenge.
