Only six points separate 1st and 8th in the table at the moment. Usually the team that tops the league on Christmas day do not win the league, also the team at the bottom of the league always get relegated at the end of the season. Current League positions. 1.Arsenal 25 points. 2.Liverpool 23 points. 3.Southampton 22 points. 4. Chelsea 21 points. 5.Manchester United20 points, 6.Everton 20 points. 7.Tottenham 20 points. 8.Manchester City 19 points. Is Arsenal going to be top of the League on Christmas day or someone else?
i think Jan window this season will be more important than it has ever been in the past, a few teams who have money to spend who have been inconsistent and will try and buy their way out of trouble and guarantee virtually top 4 finish. i wouldn't take much notice of league positions personally, although in our case IF we are still in top 4 will make it easier to attract players.
The gap between 1st and 8th could get even smaller by Xmas...This season, that Xmas position will probably have no bearing on the final outcome. Likely still to be Arsenal but I can see United being top by February...
Not us I think our upcoming games are too difficult for that. Probably Arsenal or Chelsea. If we can stay top 4 though I expect us to move up in the second half at the season as most of the top sides will have to come to Anfield
depends who is above us, if its teams that are expected or usually above us, then yes sadly agree we probably will, but if its say Saints and Everton above us, then not really, as we would hope to finish above them. (here comes the look at last 2 seasons crap)
!!!! I do feel this Everton game is bigger than most that we have had in the previous years due to both our positions.
I cannot see Saints still up there or Everton to climb up there. I see Arsenal, United, Chelsea, City and Liverpool in the top 4 at the end of the year.
