I played for a team in Beverley, as a centre-half. Couldn't head a ball to save my life, but I had quite a good reading of the game and could tackle well. Scored a few as well.

When i moved over to Merseyside in the mid eighties i played for South Liverpool, who at the time played in the Northern Premier League, i mainly played for thr reserves until they disbanded in 1987 due to financial reasons although in my time there i played against a Liverpool xi in a pre season friendly, not many star names though, i think the biggest names playing were Nigel Spackman and Gary Gillespie. I went on to play for Bootle Town and Tadcaster Albion before quitting the game to concentrate on other pursuits.
In the 70,s I played for OPTA (Orchad Park Tennents Association) plus Court Park juniors Position - played centre forward, I was **** but keen as mustard,
"Strength and Honour" Bournemouth 5-a-side. I started the team and it's still going. Andy Rammell has played for them and still goes on the annual pub crawl in Wareham.
I played for some teams here in Portugal but i guess i don't need to tell the names cause no one knows them

i played for HETA and Sydney Smith Youth Club in the Hull Youth League agen OPTA in the 70s. The bloke who ran it was a top bloke who picked me for the Hull Youth League representative team along with a certain Rob MacDonald to play agen the York equivalent.
speaking of Withernsea teams, did anyone else every have the misfortune to play against Surf City on a Sunday afternoon kick off 2 15 pm after the Spread Eagle chucked out. There was more danger from the touchline than on the pitch everytime I played!!!
