We have seen some pretty good goals this year. Those that have been going to the away games as well as the homes games will have seen more. Chaplow's goal against Man Utd is up there I would have thought. Guly's goal against Rovers perhaps. Ok gals and guys chew this over. Who has scored the goal of the season then? I suppose we should add.......the miss of the season? Anyway, what's your views? 5 going for Chappers against united beggining to break away 3 going for Guly against blackpool 2 going for Barney's against Peterborough seem to be the front runners Connolly's miss against Hartlepool the worst so far? Barneys miss at exeter perhaps?
For me .... Oxo's lob / cross goal against Daggers at home when we thumped them 4-0 on a cold Tuesday evening. or Dean Hammonds cracker against Cherries (away league fixture) ... Cracking goals!!
There have been some excellent goals this season A 'Goal of the Season' doesn't need to be long range or anything. Good team work makes a good goal
I can't think of one which massively sticks out for me. Barnard's against Posh and Lambert's against Huddersfield were both very good, but I hesitate to call either goal of the season. Surely there's been a better one than them.
Chambo has had some tasty ones, but I agree, Chaplows against united. I wasn't at St Mary's for that unfortunately, but i was watching on TV, and I went absolutely crazy. Cracking goal, huuuge adrelnaline rush.
For it's effect on the promotion race, Fonte's against Brighton. Route 1 maybe, but must have knocked the stuffing out of Huddersfield fans.
1. Lambert against hudds 2. Lallana vs bmouth, league cup 3. Hammond vs Carlisle Miss-Barnard hitting the crossbar with an open goal at Exeter.
What constitutes the best goal? The most important so far was Connollys against Brighton, just how much importance we will put on it, remains to be seen. As for the most spectacular? I need to see more footage to make a decision.
