Here are the fixtures for us and teams around us fighting for a play off spot VS teams in the top half of the table.

I havent included the fixtures for the top 3 sides - (Northampton, Oxford, Plymouth).
I have added Accrington in 4th because although they are chasing down 3rd, they still have to win their games in hand first!

4th - Portsmouth (11 games left on 59 pts) vs:
    Mansfield away
    Wimbledon away
    Carlisle home
    Plymouth home
    Wycombe home
    Northampton home

5th - Gas (11 games left on 59 pts) vs:
    Mansfield home
    Cambridge home
    Carlisle away
    Northampton away

6th - Accrington (12 games left on 57 pts) vs:
    Plymouth
    home
    Wycombe home
    Leyton Orient home
    Cambridge home
    Wycombe away

7th - Wimbledon (11 games left on 53 pts) vs:
    Portsmouth home
    Wycombe away
    Plymouth away
    Leyton Orient home

8th - Leyton Orient (11 games left on 53 pts) vs:
    Oxford away
    Accrington away
    Plymouth home
    Wimbledon away
    Mansfield home

9th - Wycombe (12 games left on 52 pts) vs:
    Accrington away
    Carlisle away
    Mansfield home
    Wimbledon away
    Portsmouth away
    Accrington home
    Oxford away

10th - Mansfield (11 games left on 51 pts) vs:
    Gas away
    Portsmouth home
    Wycombe away
    Northampton home
    Carlisle away
    Leyton Orient away
    Cambridge home

11th - Carlisle (12 games left on 51 pts) vs:
    Wycombe home
    Gas home
    Portsmouth away
    Mansfield home
    Cambridge away
    Oxford home

12th - Luton (11 games left on 50 pts) vs:
    Plymouth away
    Accrington
    home
    Oxford away
    Carlisle
    away
    Northampton away

13th - Cambridge (11 games left on 50 pts) vs:

We got just 5 teams to face in the top half of the table. So does Orient. Wimbledon got 6 teams to face. The rest have got 7 teams.

I fancy our chances but we have to beat the teams in the bottom half, like the Barnets of the league.

Also, are Plymouth or Oxford likely to slip up?

No they wont. They may slip out of the top 3 but no way will they slip out of the top 7. I can see only Accrington catching them. But looking at Accringtons fixtures, they might find it tough to castch them!

I havent included the top 3 in this thread because they will finish in the top 7. What I believe 9 teams fighting for 4 spaces to complete the top 7.

Plymouth have only won 4 games from 10 so far this year I reckon they could slip up myself

It's lean but it's mean. Well I keep telling myself it is anyway. We haven't got a very big squad and 2 out for the rest of the season is a blow unless the Manager can get one or two in from somewhere. Bit dodgy picking up new players at this stage of the season and a lottery how they will do. Argyle supporters are never the most confident of people at the best of times and I would guess after last night the wobbles will have set in again. I personally think we will be ok in the end but not before a few ups and downs to come. That's based on gut feeling and nothing more.

Personally I think it's between 5 of you and or us and Oxford. I think you can discount from Wycombe down. I don't think they will make it this year and the others are too inconsistent. I think Accrington will definately be one of them and Portsmouth who have a big squad and the players to match. Who the other 2 will be is anyones guess. I'm not sure looking at fixtures to come is any guide either. The results in this league are bizaar at the best of times. Teams will win some they don't expect and lose others they expect to win. Games aren't played on paper.

Of course. I just added the fixtures of the teams in the top half vs teams in the top half, showing these teams will drop points. Also its interesting to see some dont have as many top teams left to play than other.

On paper, we have a great last 5 games and I think this could be what gets us in the top 7. In order, the last 5 games for us....
    Yeovil (21st)
    Stevenage (20th)
    Exeter (14th)
    York (23rd)
    Dag & Red (24th)

So we play 4 of the bottom 5 clubs. On paper thats games we should be winning. But we know, these games will be very hard as they will be fighting to stay in the football league!

Back at the beginning of the year we faced the toughest fixture list possible over the next group of games. The list included six games against teams in the top seven. We were seven points behind Northampton; Plymouth and Oxford were about five points away. It all looked rosy when we beat Oxford away and were one up against Plymouth at home. Plymouth scored a late equaliser and from that point the wheels came off. Away defeats followed at Portsmouth Accrington and Wycombe. Northampton are now away with the fairies and the pack have caught us up. BUT other than another away game at Northampton for the Gas, all the other contenders will be playing against each other and sharing points until the end of the season. It is in our own hands to maintain a play off position. As far as an automatic promotion place is concerned it seems less likely. BUT, if the clubs above us keep losing to teams that they would not expect to, then stranger things have happened.
So there is no reason at all not to be optimistic. I don't want to go to Wembley again other than to watch an international match!

Now up to date in league position, number of games left and removed the games they already played.

Also added Luton as they have been in good form and now just 3 points outside the play offs! They are making an early 'late' attack to get into the play offs. Keep an eye out on them!

I still havent added the top 3 into this list. I cannot see Plymouth for example, dropping 12 points on the teams below and falling out of the top 7.
