I know that I'm a glutton for punishment, having watched the whole game on Saturday, and also watched MOTD at night!I've now just watched MOTD2,and I'm sick to death of Shearer's comments about Sunderland players.Yes,we were well beaten, but he is supposed to be an impartial commentator.Instead,he gloated at our demise as a Geordie NUFC fan would! He questioned our players' professionalism....what about his,as a pundit!Wa***r!

To be honest he could have been more critical.

He was just about echoing what Phil Thompson said about us, and had watched the game live. We have nowhere to hid or no-one to blame for their assessment of our performance.

He's much less biased than the likes of Merson & others tbh.

Shearer to me is just another opinion, nothing worth taking any notice of. He's never analytical with his assessments, he just says things like 'Definite penalty for me, but I tell you what, that was a great finish' or 'Jimmy and I would have been proud of that one'.

I want more from my pundits that just saying 'great goal' or 'he was brilliant all match' and Shearer doesn't provide that, maybe he would be good for Sky, giving the same analysis that G Neville and Carragher do, but from a striker's perspective, he's the 'greatest PL striker' after all so why limit him to 3 minutes on a Saturday night?

There's far worse that him, Jamie Redknapp for one, he's the worst for me is old Mr Contradiction, I'm convinced that stupid little prat just writes down cliche after cliche and reads them off his hand every time he's on the tele.

I don't think Shearer was wrong in what he said to be honest. What I am sick of is the horrible Mag kernts on social media who've crawled out of the woodwork to gloat, and they seem to have forgiven Pardew for everything after one unconvincing win. Fickle tossers.

Did you hear Pardew's post match interview... "I'll be having a glass of wine and enjoying the respite this win has earned me, the pressure is off now for the next few weeks"... They're still in the bottom 3 and their next two games are against Spurs away and Liverpool at home.

He should be using this time to build himself a blast-proof bunker not sitting in his slippers drinking Lambrusco the stupid twat.

Anyone know where the Swansea gloaters have gone now? They all disappeared yesterday afternoon!

FWIW - Shearer was quite close ot the mark IMO. What I couldn't understand is his constant singling out of Cattermole. Him and Fletcher were the only 2 players I could see at the end who seemed to give a ****. Cattermole was on his own in CM - Larsson was nowhere to be seen. Seemed to just disappear into his shell again. Still think that, had we had a penalty, it would've ended probablyu a draw.

Andre Marriner is often at the centre of controversy where SAFC are concerned and it's almost always against us. But that does not excuse the second half performance. I said at half time to my son "We need to show some pride and win the second half" and the only players that did show the pride were, as I said, Fletcher and Cattermole. I felt sorry for PVA at left back as he was often over-run and Wickham did nothing to help him. Buckley the same on the other side did nothing defensively.

That what f**ing shocking what Cattermole did though mate, he was dispossessed seconds after kick off then just trundled towards the play making no effort to get the ball back, next thing you know the ball was in the net again.

All that's gonna do is give somebody like Hodgson every excuse he'll ever need to leave him out of the England set up. I never thought Cattermole had that in him, to not even try.

Edit: As for Swansealona, Monk needs to start winning them games or he'll be hounded out of that club quicker than he can say Llsngsdhrrhollglln

To be honest, the only grief Shearer gets off black and whites is for being to biased towards Sunderland.

Plus, he's a cracking bloke. Ask Whitey. <laugh>

Since Shearer hung up his boots I've found him quite inoffensive really! Worse pundits out there!

Worse than Vergini, Mannone, PVA, Bridcutt, could list the entire team here? People get done for trolling saying less.

You're right though, England will go nowhere near him. They wouldn't have before anyway, nevermind after the worst performance a team could do.

I'm not singling anybody out mate, I just didn't see that kind of behaviour on a football pitch from a supposed 'leader'. Throwing the towel in, just isn't in some player's DNA and I'd have put him down as one of them.

He was probably our worst player though. It wasn't the Catts I know, He stood off from start to finish, the Soton midfield walked by him all afternoon.

Wickham & Buckley were terrible - I know I'm a Wickham fan but neither of those lads helped in any way defensively and that's where we needed them. Cattermole was booked for next to nothing (again!) and, with Marriner the "catts sender offerer" in charge he was probably scared that he got within a yard of someone to make them fall over! I never said he played well - but he showed fight and heart which is more than can be said for a number of others

It's ludicrous mate, the thing is that will probably buy him another month or so in the job, and if they lose a few more on the bounce the pressure will be straight back on. It's a weird thought though that if they draw against Spurs and we lose against Arsenal then they'll be above us, yet only a few choice idiots have been seriously calling for Gus's head while they've been in "boycout" mode for weeks.
