Just say we manage to get promoted this year who else would you want to come up? who would you then raid for their best players?
I'd like to see Sheffield United and Stevenage join us - United other than us because they play the next best Football and Stevenage because everyone loves the Underdog (though I hate their style of play). If we could steal any players from League One next year I'd take Marc Pugh from Bournemouth and Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield (of course), I'd also consider going for Jason Pearce from Portsmouth.
I'd like Sheffield United to come up, and after yesterday I'd be delighted if Bournemouth made the play-offs and got up, unlikely though that is.
Wycombe and Chesterfield to give us 12 easy points next season. Seriously i would like to see the Franchise and Stevenage come up with us the Franchise have played good football and St Evenage have continued to punch above their weight. Both are near enough for us to take significant fans to the away games. Also like to see the Wendies and the Blunts have to suffer another season for the arrogance both sets of fans have shown over "little Charlton" Vindictive ------moi?
Wednesday have been far worse on the arrogance front, I know the MASSIVE thing is a bit of a joke but they often dismiss the smaller clubs in this league as tinpot, which makes it all the sweeter when these clubs (Walsall, Stevenage x2, Exeter, Chesterfield, Bury) all beat them. They also had an arrogant **** as a manager, until they sacked him with the worst piece of timing in history. They can rot in this division for ever as far as I'm concerned. United fans haven't been as bad in my experience.
yeah, agree with that. dislike wednesday. might get big crowds but thats all they have going for them. dilapidated ground, reject ex players of ours, nob end for a manager (and chairman) and twats for fans (calling other teams that are above them tinpot? really?) historically, over the last 100 years they can say they're bigger, looking at the last 10-15, you'd have to say we are.
I hope Wednesday stay down- not a fan of MM and their whole "big club" thing makes me cringe. Coming up I expect sheff utd, which I don't have a problem with (plus we've taken 6 points from them ). With them I'd quite like Carlisle. I would say Stevenage, but I can't fathom their style if football. No notts county- purely for Hughes. Although it would mean 2 trips to hooters....
craig davies from barnsley. quality that lad. wrong thread i know but powelly get this kid on your radar
Huddersfield and Carlisle for me thanks! I live with Cumbrians, and Hudds are my faves from 2nd-5th place. Wednesday and United need the full L1 experience, which only comes with an extended stay in the division.
Not sure who I want to go up... but Leicester better say in the championship, im at uni here and if they get promoted and I miss a chance to go to Leicester v Charlton I will not be happy....
leicester wont go down. they're pushing on a play off position arent they? i had money on them getting promoted at the beginning of the season
I'd like Hudders to go up automatically alongside us. In my opinion they deserve it, they're not as dislike-able as the two Sheffield clubs, and they've missed out on promotion but been so close for the past few seasons. Through the play-off's, I'd like one of the underdogs to do it. Carlisle and Stevenage would be interesting, in fact Stevenage getting to The Championship would mean they have had three back to back promotions if my memory serves me correctly? That would be quite impressive, though like others have sad, I'm not too big a fan of their style of play.
Exeter to go up...they may need snookers but I like their manager the club ...top set up,realistically i`d like stevenage as they are the weakest smallest club so guaranteed to go down again
Mikey, you saying that in the negative way in as much as you think we will struggle? I tell you what, after watching the Cardiff v Wham game yesterday , we aint got nothing to be worried about - and if they are in top 6 then i think we could well do a Norwich next season - be interesting to see the bookies odds for us for next season once the play-off final has finished.
The weaker the opposition the more I like it...I do think that many of us seem to think its a given that we will breeze through the championship, spose time will tell.Looking at it from the other way I hope QPR dont go down as they`ll have money to go straight back up rather wigan to be relegated as I doubt they`d ever get back despite parachute money.
Very true about Wigan, personally i hope Wigan,Blackburn and Bolton do the drop - none of them will be a force next season - could even see Wigan and Blackburn 'doing a Charlton' and going down even further - lets hope so, as they add not a lot to whatever division they are in. 'Its all about momentum Jim - momentum'
