Who else do we (try to) tie down?

    So for each one do we sell, try to tie them down or let them run their deal down?

    This is easier than I thought it would be when writing it.

    Try to tie down Barton, Guthrie and the youngsters.
    Let Lover play this year (OK cover).
    Sell Smith and Lua Lua (I dont see a future for him here with Ferguson, Abeid, Moyo etc).

    Barton and Guthrie on 3 and 4 year deals respectively.

    Sell Loven and Smith.

    Give Sammy, Tavernier and Soderberg contracts.

    Let Lua Lua go, no real future here.

    Kadar... i'd be tempted to let him go.

    I'd like us to try and tie down Barton but it's not going to happen, if we're honest, is it?

    So just the youngsters for me. See how Guthrie does this season before deciding on that.

    I'd say Guthrie has more than earnt a contract over the past 3 seasons.

    He was great in our relegation season and decent in the Championship but hasn't had much of a chance this then in the centre, so I would like to give him a chance this year and so how he's progressed. He is a useful squad player, admittely.

    Barton - YES!
    Guthrie - always puts a good shift in when called upon, yes
    Lovenkrands - decent backup but let him see out this season, only offer a new contract if we go down. (God forbid)
    Smith - Please go!

    Sameobi - Sign him up NOW, has really impressed and is worthy of a place in the first team squad
    Tavernier - See how he does on loan, looks a little light to me but has talent, sign him up if he has a good spell
    Lua Lua - Going to be 21 next season, pacey and tricky but is he really going to break into the first team? I'd offer him a small contract and let him go if he wants a bigger role.
    Kadar - Sign him up now! Big lad and already reliable backup, only going to get better.
    Soderberg - I can see us losing either Krul or Forster in the next two seasons so Soderberg will come in handy as our backup. Sign him up.

    Was a real shining light the year we went down. And was one of our best performers in the Championship. Injury hit season last year but even towards the end when he was getting games he was playing really well as usual.

    The main problem is we have so many central midfielders I struggle to see where he's gunna get a chance from. I hope we don't try and play him on the right, that's for sure.

    Joey Barton; i hope he signs another contract. If Guthrie didn't have such a horrendous injury record i'd keep him, but it seems every tackle leaves him ****ed.

    I'd say get shot of all of them apart from Barton, and maybe Lover.

    As for the younguns, i'd sign them all but send them all on loan, except Sammy, because i think he could be better than all our strikers currently.
