to win tonight's six pointer? Personally I think a draw suits us best but I find myself hoping for an away win to really drop Sunderland right in it! Lose tonight and away to United on Saturday and they will be under huge pressure when they visit us on the 22nd!Views?
When two rival teams to Saints play each other, a draw is nearly always the best result because of the lost 3rd point.
A draw is always best, Reading win would leave us where we are, but pull them nearer to us. A Sunderland win would drop us a spot. At this point, I have no idea which is best, although I do think we will finish above both.
I believe in the old adage that we should look after ourselves and not worry about others. I want us to remain in the PL based on our ability and performances not on the demise of others. PS A draw would be the best outcome for all concerned. PPS I have to take a contrary view or I will disappoint Fran.
Get a few points clear so that the odd bad result won't drop us back in bottom three will do nicely. Until then, a bit of others misfortune will be fine. Don't mind who goes down (as long as it isn't us) apart from QPR (and that's only because of Redknapp). Be nice if Reading stay up...always good for promoted sides to show how good the Championship is.
Would a win either way affect the position of the managers concerned? I hope it's a draw, as 1 point will go begging.
Got to be a draw, Sunderland have more change of escaping the relegation battle so a Reading win would drag them in further, however Sunderland winning would leave Reading in a poor position with some tough games coming up.
drab 0-0 draw, which will further dishearten both teams and their supporters. But it is what Saints do that counts - a good performance and win v Sunderland just before Christmas would be a significant point in our season i think.
Hard to see Reading going all that way and getting a win, but they really are a difficult side to predict so you never know. Sunderland are easier to predict, as they haven't won any of their last six home games, and if they start poorly the crowd may get on their backs. All of which points to a draw, which is good value at 5/2 imo.
I really don't think Sunderland are going to be in the mix up at the bottom come the end of the season. The same goes for Villa and Newcastle. So, I'd just like Mignolet to keep a clean sheet for my dream team!
I might end up eating my words but "They're too big to go down". Once Bent and Lambert have kissed and made up, he'll bag enough to steer them clear.
Reading win. Takes another 3 points away from Sunderland who I think are most likely of the bottom three to stay up, and therefore trouble us.
