With Yeovil all but confirming their relegation today who would you like to see come down? League 2 still hasn't been confirmed but you can get a good idea who will be coming up. Along with Yeovil I want to see Blackpool come down and Barnsley. Would be terrible if Birmingham come down as they would be dead certs for promotion and would make our bid even harder! To come up, Scunny, as we usually beat they! Fleetwood, like Blackpool it wouldn't be a bad away trip if its late in the season. Rochdale and Burton to join them. Really looking forward to next season. Can't remember the last time we had a decent run, even under McInnes we were inconsistent. Millen when he first took voer from Johnson was probably the last bit of joy we had and since then its been one big let down! Let's hope the good times are back at bs3 for next season!
Certainly do not want Brum down here that would be bad news for us,a good away day though. I would go with the above nowt to worry about there. Next season will be our season,if not we are here for a long time to come.
A double edged sword this, the likes of Brum & Millwall will bring a lot of fans compared to Blackpool and Fleetwood, but in this Div Brum would be big favourites.
Yeovil, and Barnsley look pretty doomed. Think it could be Blackpool. Birmingham would bounce straight back, a bit like Wolves this.- Coming up, no one really seems to want it.You just don't want to be meeting these teams too early in the season whilst they are still on the crest of a waive, like out first fixtures last year, Bradford at home and the Gillingham away soon after.
For me, purely on the basis of the games I can easily get to, I would like Barnsley, Millwall and Charlton to come down but as has been said earlier, this is unlikely. A trip to Blackpool would be good in September or next April though. If Chesterfield and Burton come up that would be two extra games for me to get to easily. I would also like Notts Co to stay up, closest game for me in League 1. If we don't go up next season, Forest to be relegated and Mansfield to be promoted! Rather be promoted though!
In the Premier League, I want nothing more than to see Cardiff City go down, simply because I want to see Vincent Tan go mental. The second he goes down I can see him buying Burnley, changing their name to Cardiff City, putting them in red and relocating them. I'd like to see Brum go down, just because it'd be fairly easy to get there, and because it'd add a benchmark for us to work towards next season. I doubt we'll go up next season so I want to see a strong squad in this division that we can look towards to see how far we need to come.
Went there a good few seasons ago (around 2000) when we got hammered 5-1 and were 4-0 down at half time. Blackpool has bad memories, plus it's an absolute **** hole.
Millwall and Charlton fun. fun. fun. Both been amongst the best away days in the last ten and twenty years.
Yep? I'm a pensioner you know. Son lives in Wimbledon so free accommodation and with my senior railcard, cheap rail travel! Went to Brentford, Orient, Port Vale, Bradford, Notts C., Peterborough. Would have gone to Sheffield U but son decided to get married that day. Good decision, apparently. Missed a poor game for us. Would have gone to Stevenage (had been given permission! Lol) but decided the season was safe. Should also add that I hope Peterborough stay in League 1. Enjoyed my day there, sitting with home fans who thought I was one of them. Really enjoyed their dismay although I thought they were very honest. General opinion was that they had been punching above their weight all season. Also thought Port Vale fans were very honest, couldn't believe they got a point out of that, thanks to Flint?
Remember when they were robbed in the FA Cup Semi Final after scoring a legitimate goal ? Chesterfield is a nice place, but they are a yo-yo club. Usually too strong for L2 but never quite good enough to stay in L1
I remember it well. We went on to sign 3 members of that team, Paul Holland and Billy Mercer, who's careers were cut short by injury, which was a real shame as I though Mercer was a great keeper, and their captain who scored a penalty that day, a certain Mr. Sean Dyche. He never seemed popular as a player. Clearly destined for bigger things!
In a realistic work would like all the localish teams to come down and up, Yeovil, oxford, Plymouth. But considering that won't happen the smallish teams like Rochdale, Scunthorpe, Fleetwood. And to go down Millwall cos of Holloway, Doncaster (nice ground) and Yoevile.
