Sunderland swoop for Manchester City star Adam Johnson Jul 31 2011 by Alan Oliver, The People Add a commentRecommend (2) SUNDERLAND boss Steve Bruce wants to bring Manchester City winger Adam Johnson back to his home town. Hotline understands the Black Cats boss has been in touch with City about the England winger, 24, *regarding a loan deal and was encouraged by their response. City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted he is on the look-out for a wide player and a central midfielder, leaving fans wondering about Johnsonâs future. Bruce was keen on Johnson in his Middlesbrough days but he could not compete with City when they signed him for an undisclosed fee in January last year. Ironically, Johnson â who found the target in yesterdayâs 3-0 friendly defeat of an Airtricity XI in Dublin â scored his first City goal with a last-gasp equaliser at the Stadium of Light. Although Johnson was born on Wearside as part of a Sunderland- supporting family, he was a Newcastle fan as a boy and actually joined them before being released. Bruce has signed NINE players in the close season but he is still looking for a left winger and a striker. And as revealed in Hotline last month, he is keeping an eye on Craig Bellamyâs situation at Manchester City.
I never believe a publication that spouts speculation when it shares the same name as www.obesityhotline.com suicidehotlines.com The Online Hotline | RAINN | Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network So on and so forth.
was in the express today saying johnson on loan and bellamy permanent. Would love both and they'd really complete our squad. Id be very confidant of another top 10 finish if we aquired either of these two.
Don't think we will get Johnson unless Man City bring in someone who can play out wide. As for Bellamy if Man City cover part of his wages then I think he would be a good signing, has another couple of season's left in the tank and can play on the left of a front 3 if we go tht way
Can't see AJ coming - City need a squad of players considering Champs Lge and Mancini knows AJ can do a job if not in Champs Lge then in Prem.......as for Bellers - we could do a lot worse; 100% committed, left sided player and think he'd be good for some of the young players (just keep the golf clubs locked up).
Oliver's a scummy who was ridiculed when he worked for Ronnie Gill. The bloke talks utter **** juice. Tack nee notice.
i have seen to many different articles on this not to have some legs in it, Bruce knows where the weakness is in the team and these two would put it right, i dont think we would be able to buy him but a loan, good chance, as far as Bellamy is concerned could do a lot worse and this makes a lot of sense to keep the wage bill down for City as his playing days for them are over.
Absolutely no reason not to believe what Mancini says, I can see Johnson playing a very big part in their Champions league season, he's a class player, I don't see anyone as naturally talented replacing him on Citys wing. As for Bellamy I can't see it. His wages are far too high for Sunderland and I doubt very much that City would loan him and pay half his wages like they did last year, they need players off their books. A player that gives 110% each game but I can't see him at the SOL like.
If true it would settle a few nerves and I would be looking forward to the season rather than being slightly nervous.
