With the three teams below us all playing tonight, 3rd to 6th could look pretty tight by the end of the evening. Obviously we want the Spuds to lose at Bolton, but who would you prefer took the points in the Chelsea v Newcastle game ?

Personally, as much as I'd like to see Newcastle win, I'd rather Chelsea finished in the top 4, so that should they win the CL, all four top placed teams secure a place in the CL next season.

I think Chelsea will win 2-0 at home tonight and I think Bolton will beat Spurs 2-1

If this scenario occurs then the table will look like this, with two games to go

    3. Arsenal.....24gd.....66pts
    4. Chelsea....25gd.....64pts
    5. Spuds......19gd.....62pts
    6. Toon.........5 gd.....62 pts

Agreed. We need all three teams to drop points if possible.

That's the ideal scenario though I see both London clubs winning. Tw*ts.

There can only be one set of results that will suit us, Bolton win Chelsea/Newcastle draw. That would mean beating Norwich on Saturday would almost guarantee 3rd place.

I reckon Chelsea will slaughter Newcastle tonight. They're on good form and their confidence must be the highest it's been in years.

Bolton, though could do us a favour. I like them as a club and would rather they were in the league than QPR, so I hope they beat the Spuds and survive. I feel sorry for Bolton because they lost both Lee and Holden to huge injuries and had to replace them with Reo-coker and Muamba.

For Arsenal's sake it is better for Newcastle to win tonight by as many goals possible and Spurs to lose. Newcastle still have to play City and go away to Everton on the last day of the season. At the moment, third place is in Arsenal's hands only, but I understand that you gooners may fear a slip up in the final two games, despite the fact that you should win both.

Is it true that Spurs have never won at the Reebok? <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

I actually don't mind if Chelsea do win this, just don't want Newcastle to win... a draw is ideal.

Therefore the set of results I don't mind seeing:

    Bolton 2 Spuds 1

    Chelsea 1 Newcastle 1 :)

If one of you is to win tonight its better its Chelsea from an arsenal perspective. Especially considering if you win the cl 3rd is the same as finishing 4th

Tottenham to lose and a draw between Chelsea and Newcastle.
    That would be ideal.

If I had to choose a winner from Chelsea or Newcastle, I would prefer Chelsea. This would keep Newcastle away from us and if Chelsea win the CL, it wouldn't 'mata' whether we finish 3rd or 4th.
Newcastle also have a tough game against Man City on Sunday, so they could be out of the race third place by then anyway.

You must also keep in mind though that Newcastle play man city next which won't be easy by any means. Not as straight forward as some might make out. Edit: just read your full comment sorry about that but all the same if I had to choose a winner it would be Newcastle as I think man city will get something out of their game.

Chelsea getting 3rd/4th isn't as bad for us as either of Tottenham or Newcastle.

But I would take a Newcastle win today, as it's almost certain that they will drop all 3 points against Man. City.

If these results are right and you don't beat Norwich you could basically be ****ed for top 4 as I think both us and Spurs will win our last 2 games

Who do we want to drop points....? Should we really be worried about those teams dropping points? We have our destiny in our hands, just 2 games to go, we have to beat Norwich at home and soon to be mangerless WBA away, and we want 3rd spot to be handed to us on a platter.

If the boys cannot handle the pressure of winning "just" 2 games (to come 3rd) against teams with nothing to fight for, then they will never win nowt!

I think our lads are well focused on winning our last two games, but you can't discount the teams around us. So for that reason alone, their results have more than a passing interest for Gooners.
