Monday 12th May. A day after our best Premier League Season concluded. Who did you believe we would/ might have sold by the end of the Summer Transfer window? Surely no-one expected this many, but I'm wondering how optimistic everyone else was going in.
I thought at the time that if we could hold on to our manager, we'd probably hold on to most of the squad. We didn't, and we didn't. Never in a million years did I envisage a scenario like the current one.
I thought Osvaldo and some fringe players would leave, possibly including Cork. Didn't think any of our main team would leave...also believed MP would stay. That gives you a good idea of my judgement and how much credence you should give to my posts
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...amptons-transfer-exodus-crisis-point-3934341? Mirror saying 5 more may go. I know its the Mirror, who I usually don't take much notice of in Football terms, but written by Martin Lipton who is regarded as their top writer really. But who knows.
Just reporting rumours...if any leave now I will assume they are not part of Koeman's plans, possibly Mayuka and Jos (love Jos).
Shaw Lallana Osvaldo Sharp I thought we would get about £60m from them. I thought we would re-invest it in reasonable replacements and more strength/depth. I was really impressed when Ron signed. I think if we signed some of the names we are linked with it could be just about OK, we could even cope with losing Morgan (if we signed Clasie), but not JRod.
I think a lot of conclusions were drawn from the emotional lap of honour. I thought Lallana would leave, did not expect Lambert to go.
True. If 5 more leave and they're Osvaldo, Mayuka, Sharp, Gazzaniga and Hooiveld I doubt it would upset too many people.
