I think it's fairly well known that, as much as I am a fanatical supporter of my beloved Spurs, I don't take myself at all serious, and that I like to engage in banter with fans of all colours and calling. I've posted on numerous boards, and I have observed the great disparity in how well each takes the occasional ribbings that I dish out.

Over on the old BBC 606 board, the worst fans, by far and away, were the 'Pool fans. I cannot count the number of articles and posts I have pulled by the mods because some poor, overly sensitive Scouser either went crying to the mods or was too quick to use the DELETE button. They really could not take even the gentlest of criticisms about their very ordinary team. In contrast, although they lacked any real humour, the Gooners on that site were remarkably robust and would put up with a lot of ribbing - and, let's be honest about this, they took an awful lot of ribbing!

However, on this site, the roles seems to have reversed. The 'Pool fans, whilst not be particularly humorous (where is the famous Scouse wit?), are remarkably resilient to a bit of ribbing (and mine is nothing compared with the stick they take from the United WUMs). The Gooners, on the other hand, are a completely different kettle of smelly fish. They have absolutely no sense of humour, zero ability to make an objective appraisal about anything touching upon their team, an almost cult-like and blind loyalty to their manager (who has clearly lost the plot), and an anally-retentive denial that anything, at all, is wrong with their club (what with the likes of Fab, Nasri and Clichy all wanting to leave.

Generally, the best fans to share banter with, or so I have found, have been the Chavs and the glory-hunting United fans. I've haven't been on the City board at all, so I don't know what they are like, but they generally like the attention so rarely make delete any posts.

What has been the experience of you guys, of all the different fan bases?

Most fans on here seem to be alright and can take a joke and a bit of banter.

Others are complete muppets though but it isn't narrowed down to one particular club.

This is a big boys forum without Auntie to look after them.

It's interesting that on this no holds barred forum the debate is more polite with less swearing than there was on 606. I have not noticed any FFS comments on the Spurs site, the freedom to swear has reduced the need for it.

So what are you talking about For ****s Sake! <laugh>

Thing is, I've got a couple of Gooners trying to get me banned from their board for doing nothing more than being the realistic yardstick against which they can measure their own rose-tinted fantasies. I don't get that with any other board. I've given the 'Pool fans just as much as I've given the Gooners, and I've not had a single one of them come back in floods of tears.

What is it about these two or three Gooners (not all of them, by any means) that's so hard to accept that Nasri and Clichy, as well as Fab, want to leave? They were all creaming their pants when the Modric lies were being reported in the red-tops, until a quality paper (The Independent) stepped in and reported that Modric was a pawn in a very underhand attempt by the Chavs and a scummy agent to orchestrate some tapping-up. Did we all get on our high horses and demand the banning of scoffing Goons? No. Did we cry to the mods that we were being treated unfairly by those nasty, uncaring Goons? No. We rose above it all, we treated it like banter, and got on with our lives.

That's what one does when one enters into a bit of banter.

It's a shame that one set of fans want to spoil it for the others.

Clichy does want to leave, Nasri want more money and may leave if he doesn't get it and whilst Fabregas would have no objection with going to Barcelona he is happy to stay here (in my opinion). We have said that numerous times to you but seeing as you would never listen to it we realised you were a wum and so treated you accordingly.

As normal you refuse to look at the answers you asked for because they are not what you want.

    I think you'll find:

Spurs fans will claim Gooners are the least humorous fans on Not606
Gooners will claim Spurs fans are
Utd fans will claim the Scousers are
The Scousers will claim Utd fans are

As with all things in football, different criteria are applied depending on whether you're talking about fans of your fiercest rivals...

You're never off our board so you wouldn't know how humorous (or not) other fans are...

It's in Fabregas' interest to make a public demonstration of his happiness at Arsenal though RVF, isn't it?
If he subsequently moves to Barca, which seems to be his aim, then he can just make another statement.
If he stays at Arsenal, then he hasn't alienated the fans.

The fact that one of his teammates has said that he wants to go is a little harder to explain away.

But he could force his transfer now, and that way he wouldn't ever have to see us again so he doesn't need to worry about fan backlash. I believe that he does love our club and doesn't want to disrespect us which is why he is still here.

These are his actual comments, not in the way you have twisted him to make it look like he is trying to leave.

When asked if he is happy with the current situation.
When asking if his situation has changed.

He might not have to force it, though.
He may still get his transfer and not have to alienate Arsenal fans to do it.
His transfer to Barca may not work out, even if it does happen, after all.
He may wish to have a back-up plan or he may just have enough respect for the manager and the fans to avoid insulting them, essentially.

I guess thats all possible, however I think he will be content to stay here and is not trying to leave (although he would be happy to go). It comes down to what you believe ultimately.

So you are admitting that you distorted the evidence to make it look as if your point of view was right?

If you are being so open about intending to deceive why do it in the first place? You have gone from trying to show me that Fabregas is trying to leave to being surprised that I am calling you out on it with no explanation why you have suddenly changed the subject.

If you were being 'honest' why falsify the quotes in the 1st place?

Fibreglass, is there any reason why you are on this board other than to wind up those who support Spurs? If not, do the decent thing and **** off.
