Big game bottlers Arsenal 128 days on top, only to melt away in Feb/March Liverpool, 5 points clear before Matchday 36 with games v Chelsea, Palace and Newcastle B, full squad, and a week off between each game
Arsenal set to win the fa cup, chelsea end the season trophyless. Maybe you should add Chelsea to the list?
Chelsea had a great chance to win the title and the blew it against cr@p teams , but you leave them off the list , how peculiar . Look in the mirror , you will see the biggest bottlers this season ...we ran out of steam in Feb . You had it in your hands a few weeks ago . butterfingers ! tsk tsk
Correct you ran out of stream in late January but then you haven't had a decent squad since George Grahams day but I hope you win the cup next week at least it will give you a little cheer over the next decade of decline.
We didn't bottle it as much as spilt what was in the bottle !!! We really have a major problem with lower teams. Weird really, can't decide if its tactics or psychological or both. Whatever it is it looms as big as the problem of sorting out our team, which is unbalanced. The loss of form of Hazard and Oscar is also a worry. Got a suspicion they are not exactly enamoured with the way Jose makes them play. That needs sorting out as well, work rate is fine ,but flair and attacking skills are vital.
Agreed - running around like wildebeests is all very well but at the end of the day we need a bit of subtlety; the latest offering against Cardiff was symptomatic of our seasons biggest bugbear: one dimensional with very little creativity against dross. Something for Jose to dwell on during the Summer.
Let's not forget Liverpool were nine points ahead of City with three games left after the Norwich game. NINE City won five and Liverpool scraped just one victory v nine men
Transition - I reckon RA will give Jose the benefit of the doubt but there will be no hiding place next season.
Ran out of steam? You were routed and have given a new meaning to that backyard cricket phrase of "Six and Out!"
We bottled it more than Arsenal but it's interesting which teams have been omitted from the 'list' in the poll.
