Does anyone else feel that under the reign of Steve Bruce we have lost our team's identity? First of all we have made progress since the Keane days but I think we would have made progress whoever the manager was to come in after Keane, with more money to spend on players it was obvious we would make progress from being a bottom 4 team. I also believe that the majority of football fans outside of Sunderland do not have a clue who plays for our club. I mean Gyan is the obvious name people remember and associate with us but with the sale of Bent & Henderson we have no identity anymore. Add to this the release of Muntari/Mensah/Onouha/Zenden/Welbeck just who actually are we? The ability for our fans to relate and be inspired by the team through local lads like Jordan Henderson is dissappearing and adding players like N'gog and possibly Pavelychenko simply adds to the ever expanding gap between local Sunderland fans and journey men who mean nothing to the city. I would like Bruce to build a team that fans will remember and not just just Sunderland fans but football fans all over, history will not remember our team in the last few seasons as there has been so many comings and goings. So please Steve build a team that our fans will remember for years to come.
think what you mean is we have no star names, i agree, but who knows what can happen, maybe this coming season we will either buy one, or one we already have will shine..
