Will the canary avoid the tiger´s claw And bring home a piece of the cake, To do so, would help quieten its roar And leave it with a bellyache, For it might expect, as the inviting host To partake of the biggest slice, But the canny canary after the welcoming toast Might leave only scraps for the mice, And though its jaw is of the largest kind The canary is nimble in flight, And will peck away at whatever there´s to find So it may not get a chance to bite, And just after noon on a bright sunny day We all know the procedure then, Large beasts like the tiger will all while away The time, with a siesta again, So at this tea party when bird and beast meet And cake slices are handed round, I´ve a feeling the canary will end quite replete As he flies out from the KC ground.
