No it's ok he's not off to Forest in January, I just wondered what others thought of Peter Wittingham so far this season?

For me he's been a bit hit or miss. Sublime passing at times but lethargic mostly in tracking and tackling. Yesterday I thought his goal was magnificent and uncharacteristically brave, but saved him from what overall was a poor performance. Not putting a downer on yesterdays win but I think his goal may just be what was needed to spark that confidence and hunger for goals he once had.

Whitts had a few good games early in the season, yesterday he looked slow and uninterested in the game, we need other players to take free kicks now and then just to change things.

His goal was needed not only for him but the team also..

If he had pace, he'd be a top six club player. The fact is that with him and Taylor down the left hand side yesterday, it looked like slow motion when compared to the right with Noone and TC.

He has some sublime skills, but he's getting caught on the ball too much for my liking lately. His deliveries into the box from set pieces are questionable at the moment and his shooting is almost as if he's trying too hard and failing.

That goal yesterday was very well taken though, and he got into the right place at the right time. Hope that does the trick because when he's on song he can pull all the right strings.

I think he does a lot of the little things that aren't as spectacular as we are used to and as a result he doesn't get the same credit.

Due to Malky's formation he plays a lot deeper and frequently doubles up with Tayls to mark the winger/full back. Therefore he is rarely in the attacking positions we have often seen him score from. Yesterday being an exception.

As for free kicks he couldn't judge the pace of the wind behind him first half so 2 or 3 free kicks were over hit. And who hit the free kick in the first half, him or Odemwingie? I still wasn't 100% sure from all angles on MoTD.

However, his lack of effort to tackle their full back several times first half yesterday was a cause for concern. He has had a few bookings over the years for late tackles - not deliberate just slow and late. Was he trying to avoid that again?

In summary, he has been asked to modify his game for the sake of the team and as a result has lost some of his attacking prowess.

    BfB!
That freekick was a strange one yesterday. It looked as if they both made contact. Double the power hoping to sink Myhill in the back of the net with the ball? ;)

You got the answer in the match, first time he backed off a 50/50 with the fb, crowd gave him some stick. 2nd one in he went at glacial pace, arrived late and was very lucky to avoid a booking. He's scared of getting tight for the same reason, if the ball goes past him he's ****ed for any recovery pace. He makes Taylor look like Roberto Carlos when we're recovering down the left.

Witts gives MM a massive problem as I see it. He doesn't have a position, he's too slow for lm. To weak for cm and nowhere near dynamic enough. If we play a 2 in the middle rather than a 3 he has no chance of playing in the middle. He is the player most likely to assist in our side (help loads by exclusivity on the set pieces) and has always got the threat of a goal in him though.

I think Kim bo would have added a better overall contribution to the way we played yesterday but Witts is the reason we walked off with the 3pts.
He reacted terribly to being dropped last season and I think MM will be scared of shattering his confidence like that again. Even though there's no doubt it was the right decision.

Honest question where should we play him? I just don't see him as our other centre mid with Medel.

    3 in the middle?
