Just watching the Cardiff game and wondering if whittingham could be the player to help our midfield unlock more premier league defences I know he plays in the championship and it would be a major step up but he could be a bargain price of a couple of million if they dont get promoted this season and could help us get more creativity in the middle of the park

A decent call Scotty not a bad player and the right side of 30 to have a long term effect for us.
Does he have any PL, European or International experience?

We were linked with him last summer weren't we?

He's scored a lot less this year mind, and i'm baffled as to how watching him play in a team arse raped by the smoggies made you pick him out!

(didn't watch the game, so if he played a blinder and was unlucky, fair one ;))

I know they aren't playing well but he played a couple of balls over the top that I think would really suit the style of gyan for him to run on to but as you say they are playing middlesborough

I caught him a few times last season, when we were linked, and i will say i was very, and i mean VERY impressed with him.

He seems to have disappeared out of the limelight a bit this season, but maybe that's due to Bellamy being there, and the circus it brought.

I wouldn't be against a move for the lad, a goalscoring midfielder though? At Sunderland?

    It'll never ****ing work <laugh>
