Ragged trouser philanthropist , anything by Orwell.
Scares me that some many people have seen the headlines and buy their sun newspaper / daily mail and worry about immigration etc etc
The whole scandal is shocking and goes so so deep , seems all goverments are able to access whatever they want , whenever they want , for all the people that say that's fine , we have nothing to hide , let them set up cameras in your home

As Conflict once said "if you look quite deep enough you'll see it's all a con, a look at past history tells all government is wrong"

Nothing new, governments have been spying on people for thousands of years. Cavemen probably did the same.
Stalin, Chairman Mao, Kim Jong Il, Hitler all did it and it continues. It will not go away. The methods of obtaining information has changed. Come the revolution nothing will change because gues what, the new leaders will want to stay in power and to do that they need to know what people are doing and thinking.

I wonder if anyone's going to derail this thread with a football comment - it seems to happen the other way around.

Aber - don't preach to me mate about derailing theads - you've taken plenty off course in your time on here. <ok>

As for being elderly - I'm 55 (if that's "elderly" to you, fair enough) and very happy with my lot, though I accept that there are many who aren't. I just don't care to use this forum as a platform for my political beliefs, but if you do mate, carry on. I'll just talk about mundane things like football.

I'd better get off this thread now as GCHQ are probably monitoring it, and I don't want a visit from the CIA.

Aber, I believe I am as open minded as the rest on here and as I see it the anarchists do not have a solution. Anarchy is all well and good but afte the anarchists take over they will become the new ruling party and do exactly what others have done before them.

How will anarchists rule the world after they have overthrown the establishment?
Will they have free and fair elections?
Will there be a predetermined length of time they hold office?
    Will they rule without spying?
Who will create new legislation when it is needed?
Will there be a police force?
Will there be any form of armed services to protect them and their people against those that do not agree with them?

I have to ask these questions as I really cannot see how anarchists would do anything differently. I know we are in a "Big Brother" world and the big guys call the shots but do you realistically think they would relinquish their power? Democracy, Socialism, Communism etc, etc.... all have their good points and bad points but they work relatively well. Religious states work well but that's another debate.

Sorry aber - I didn't realise having an "open mind" (that apparently means seeing things your way) was a prerequisite to post on your threads.

I'll be sure to confine my closed mind comments to trivial matters such as football and allow the counter intelligence network to go about their mission. Let us know when you take over.

I've often agreed with others on here that if you don't like the thread subject, then give it a miss. So to that extent I've obviously broken my own own mantra on this one.

To each his own I suppose, and I'm all for free speeech, but if we have to have an anarchist's charter pushed down our throats on what is supposed to be a light-hearted football forum, then I'll give it a miss in future.
