While it's quiet, an ex-Saint makes his international debut

I picked up this story in the local press as Danny now plays his football for Chester City FC.

Danny Hiigginbothaam made his debut for Gibraltar last night and was man of the match. CCFC fans tell me he is a class act. He was a real favourite of mine, and I'm delighted for him after his injury worries.

 

A fantastic result for Gibraltar...a draw against Slovakia. Pleased for Danny.

 

I know he's not getting any younger but how has he ended up in non league football, surly he would be good enough for league 1/2

 

That draw will take them above a load of teams in the world rankings too.

 

Anyone knows how he qualifies for Gibraltar?

He is one of those that the term, "good, honest, professional" would apply to. I know that its a bit of a euphemism sometimes for, "talentless, dirty git who tries hard" but he had a bit more to him than that. I always had him in the same mould as Benali.

 

Because he played for Stoke recently!
