I can think of Coventry, Wolves and Nottm. Forest who we have played in the top tier, second tier and third tier.
Are there any other sides we have played in the 3 divisions....... and have we played any team in all 4 divisions...?

Also does anyone know which team have we played most times in the English football league in all 4 divisions ?
i don't know the answer just wondered if anyone does ?

QPR in the nineties and early 2000's, we seemed to play them a lot then.

Did'nt we play Tranmere,Walsall and Brentford a lot back in the 80's?.......seem to be in the same league all the time and meet them in cups or play-offs a lot.

According to Bristol City - A Complete Record 1894-1987
    ORIENT 80
    NOTTS COUNTY and ROVERS 66
    MILLWALL SWINDON and READING 64
    HULL 62
    QPR 60

    Work it out from there!

Cheers Pirate, I guessed it would probably be a team who played in the old division 3 South- but also spent a period of time in the current chamionship- If pressed I would have gone for Millwall.
I am surprised we have played Hull so many times

Hi Caldicott, We didn't play Luton in our glory days in mid 70's in division 1, -can't recollect whether we played them in division 4 in the not so glorious early 80's.

Can you recollect any other teams beside Coventry, Wolves and Nottm Forest who we have played in 3 seperate divisions...
