Which striker should we go for???

There have been many strikers names thrown up by the media linking them with us. But of the names we have been linked with, who should we be looking at???

 

Sturridge and a big man, not sure who the big man should be though mind.

 

Out of the ones listed, I'd want Rodallega most.


Although I'd of hoped we'd be aiming somewhat higher than Aliadiere

 

Sturridge will either stay at Chelsea or go to Bolton permanently. Why would he choose us (and the lower wages) when he could go to Bolton, where the fans love him???

I think these are ones that are getting branded around (on here if no-where else) and i have put them in personal preference (top to bottom). While Pav is a quality player, that would improve our squad, his age puts him bottom for me.

If we got any 2 of these players, i'd be ****ing over the moon!

Same thing as for Geordie Boot Boy - They will go to a bigger club, except for Pav. He isn't that old either.

Graham Carr did a piece today (linked on Newcastle's BBC page) and he say's that people would be amazed about how much of a pull Newcastle still is, especially in France, Holland and Belgium. All the foreign ones i named play in France or Holland.

Why has Rodallega got 3 votes? He has been undiluted ****e this season...

 

I was thinking Hooper before I even saw the poll. Wouldn't want Rodallega, not sure why people do, hes ****e.

 

Doubt we'd have any chance of luring him away from CSKA or beating the other clubs after him, but would love us to get Necid. I'd expect whoever we do bring in to come from a mainland Europe team given the way we've been scouting around there.

 

I selected Doyle as I tihnk he's the best of the realistic targets there, I prefer Pav as a player but he's gonna be out of our price range.

 

Theres a few names that have been mentioned that would be nice, but for some reason I can see us signing people that theres been no rumours about, out of the blue kind of things, Carr probably has few names jotted down that we would have never even thought of (hopefully good ones) Its gonna be an exciting summer.

 

What about young Wickham from Ipswich? Seems a decent prospect - very highly thought of.

If we can get him and compliment the signing with an established goal scorer I'd be pretty happy.

 

Thing is, over the past few years these are the players we have got. If Ben Arfa didn't make all the noise himself that would have been relatively un-reported. I dont remember hearing anything about Tiote until a few days before we signed him either.

I'm just hoping that all this scouting will come good and we dont just cop out and get an 'established' PL player. We need someone better than we will be realistically able to get from another PL club.

 

Our days of paying over the odds for the wrong players seem to be past us, this is definitely a good thing, it seems like we have the scouting network in place now that wont make a massive hash of it.

Even the players we've brought in that havent quite made it have cost us next to nothing or nothing, Perch was 750k, Routledge was 1mil, Campbell on a free, even Best to an extent he was about 1.5mil (seems to be coming good now though) suppose thats one thing Mike has done right, he just hasnt done it enough.
