Davies has missed the boat IMO.

We don't play a major tournament until 2018, by which time Davies will be 33 and will likely be past it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a token friendly at Wembley but I'd be quite amazed if he was in Allardyce's plans for the World Cup.

I couldn't give a **** if he doesn't play a competitive international. I couldn't care less if he was a 90th minute sub in a friendly. I just want him to get the recognition he quite clearly deserves.

Would assume it is his namesake, Kevin Davies.

In saying that, there was probably someone in the 1940s or 50s who was in his 40s or something....

How was Jake on Saturday? Its a big call on whether Dawson comes back in. Is the reason Curtis is flourishing because he's not playing alongside Dawson?

    Decisions, decisions...

Davies probably feels comfortable enough to attack every ball safe in the knowledge that Jake will have the pace to cover him if he misses the ball. If Sanchez plays against us I'd stick with Livermore

Jake has been a revelation at the back - in fact I'd say he's better there than he is in midfield

that's not what happened. the purchase of dawson interrupted the solid davies-chester pairing and once bruce worked out that dawson-chester was a better pair than dawson-davies, davies was out.

i'd argue that davies's higher figures partly reflect the fact that we're set up primarily to defend. it's like comparing the number of penalties teams at the top and bottom of a table get. one lot spend most of their time attacking, the other spend most of their time defending.

Not only is he leading all European defenders statistically...he's leading by a mile in KEY categories. It was a travesty that Woy ignored him for World Cup selection. Its an even bigger travesty that Big Sam is ignoring him now when he's having his best ever season. And he's a major threat in our opponents penalty area. What more does Curtis have to do to get selected!!!
