Shamelessly stealing an idea from the latest Grabban debate, which players can you only remember for a single game, or single thing they did? For example all I can remember of Daryl Sutch is that he missed a penalty in the play-off final. His other 301 appearances apparently managed to make literally no impression on me. Couldn't even remember where he played. Does anyone else have players they remember similarly little of?
Marc Libra - came off the bench against Manchester City scored within 30 seconds and didn't do anything much else while he played for us.
On his day, Marc Libra was absolute quality. On other days, he was absolutely diabolical. I remember Nigel Worthington subbing him for doing one of his annoying, ineffectual little flicks he was so keen on about 20 minutes into a game.
He even had his own song Viva Libra... Kudos for squeezing another Grabbanesque thread DH . I will take the bait and argue that Grabban has a goal to games ratio of 6/14 if indeed he has played in all 14 even with the 5 mins against Leeds . He scored the only goal in the old farm and will be remembered for that but with another 24 games left he may be remembered for more than that and at this point is our joint top scorer.
Henrik Mortensen is my choice. Saw his first game for the reserves, and he scored with a scissor kick. Probably the best goal I have seen. I thought "What have we here? Something really special" Alas he faded away,Played 18 games, never scored, never booked.
What bait? Genuinely thought it'd be a nice idea for a thread that would hopefully generate a bit more varied discussion than what's been the norm of late. I only made reference to another thread as I didn't want to give the impression the idea was mine at all! I guess Safri is another player that could fit in this category. He scored a stunner against Newcastle, but that's all I could tell you about him.
Surely you remember every Canary Caller calling him Safari! I thought he was a pretty solid player for us, though I have to admit that is the only real contribution I can think of, even if it was outstanding!
I remember watching a chubby Jan Molby play for us and scoring a long range pearler against Bimingham.
You really need a video to go along with that...
Also puts me in mind about Gary Megson's OG at Portman Road back in the early 90s! He headed in from a corner in the final minute!
Remember it well mate! Given the title of the OP though, I would have thought that Ullathorne would have been remembered by Budgies for more than that unfortunate back pass, (as would Gunny), being a member of their early '90's team and playing against Inter at the San Siro... I only posted the vid for the benefit of the younger Budgie posters such as dave and gandy who may not have seen it before.
