Just going on a bit from the Leadbitter debarcle, Which ITFC player past or present really made your blood boil? Leadbitter for me has to be pretty much up there with Judas Norris, but who else could there be?
I remember Jason Dozzell getting a really hard time! For me though and for very different reasons it has to be Dan Harding. He is simply the most inept footballer it has ever been my misfortune to witness.
Anyone see FourFourTwo's best and worst foreigners article? Some real horror stories in there, I think Diallo gets a mention!
Diallo's throw ins were something to behold! I'm sure i remember a 5 year old trying to tell him the difference between a foul throw and a perfectly good one!
Norris & the captain (could be a decent band name) annoy me through there shear lack of talent rather than for any other matters Players that I tend to really get annoyed about are those with talent that dont have the workrate and commitment to go with. JET could fall into that category but with there youth I will give him the benefit whilst he gets used to playing every week. The one player that really does make me shout, through lack of ability and nothing else is Delaney. How he got a professional contract I will never ever know.
Who remembers Drissa Diallo and George Santos as our Centre Backs! And we're still moaning about our lousy Defence!
Graham Harbey might just be the worst player to have played at Ipswich, he made Harding look like a world beater. Not saying his passing was poor, but the crowd were in imminent danger when this guy had the ball at his feet. Glen Pennyfather was another that got the blood level up, not that he seemed to have particularly poor games, because during a whole match, he hardly touched the ball.
Manuel Thetis I could never judge if he was any good as he never stayed on the pitch long enough! Same with Ulrich Le Pen but for different reasons!
I'll tell you who used to really Grind my Gears that Amir Karic he was ****. Thetis was Quality always fun to watch.
There merest memory of yet another excellent ball crossed in or around the six yard box with Priskin standing nervously 20 yards from where he was supposed to be sends me into an absolute towering rage! The goals we missed out on because of that numpty doesn’t bear thinking about. And his 1.7 million purchase was the effective replacement of the 150K sale of Jordan Rhodes! <Bristles with indignation>
I thought of one, then they just kept coming, had to get them all off my chest. The most recent one's for me are Delaney and Norris, work rate and application is fine but no talent and terribly position wise. It made my blood boil how, they both could effect the game so much by being out of position and therefore make players who they were playing with better than themselves, look bad. Diallo was terrible but didn't really make my blood boil and I actually quite like Santos but how we nearly got promoted with a team which included those players I will never know!! Also I really like both Naylor and Kuqi but they also made my blood boil at times because they were just so talentless. I couldn't tell whether Kuqi was playing rugby or football at times and Naylor (who I much preferred as a striker) at CB was awful on the ball and such a liability, although was fairly decent at making a tackle and position wise which is suprising considering he was a striker. Marcus Bent used to annoy me because he potentially was an international class player, yet his application and attitude was terrible, he really could have played for a top premierleague club!! Danny Haynes used to infuriate me aswell, never made the right decision, when he should have run at the defender he would cross the ball and when he should of crossed the ball he ran with it!! The loan players of McEveley and O'Dea used to annoy me aswell purely because they were useless. But the biggest bug bearer for me and the worst player to ever wear a town shirt was Ben Thatcher. For all the other players I have mentioned they either had the work rate or the talent but he had neither and was just a thug!!
I can remember being at Villa Park midweek in the 4th round of the league cup (Littlewoods I think then) Tony Daley was being marked by Harbey from Derby...Villa won 6-2 with most of the damage being done by Tony Daley, it was like watching a tortoise marking a whippet, I think we were all singing we want ten at 6-0 down then we went and scored twice, Harbey was shocking..!
I am straining but it's difficult because I really don't think we've ever had such a pitiful bunch of players as we've had over the last few years?
