If Ramsey stays fit and does the full pre-season with the team, he should do well. He won't have the big pressure on him he had during last season.

But the Olympic games might come in the way and he could struggle to make the team afterwards.

  3. Yes Ramsey - it will be a HUGE surprise when he actually wins a midfield battle against an opponent.

Walcott could be huge for next season with the right service.

Gervinho. All he needs to do is learn to show composure, and then Theo is history.

Theo got 11 goals & 13 assists in all Competitions this year (according to Wikipedia), while Gervinho managed just 4 goals and 8 assists. Theo's "goals contributed" is therefore 24 compared to Gerv's 12 - exactly double.

Gerv played in 34 games, Theo in 46, giving Gerv 0.35 Goals-per-Game productivity, and Theo 0.52.

Can you really see Gerv upping his game enough to eclipse Theo next season? Personally I think Theo is SEVERELY under-appreciated by a lot of Arsenal fans. Everyone was clamouring for him to be back for the last game of the season against West Brom.

Gervinho, i know that he has had a hard time adapting this season but i think that he will have adapted to the style of the epl come next season, and i could see from our last few games that he was getting more joy down the wings and was becoming more of a danger, it will also be interesting to see miyachi and joel campbell.

I think Santos is going to have a big season <ok> He's the best attacking LB we've had since Cashley

But he's terrible positionally. He's not too bad tackling wise, but he's caught out far too often. Gibbs is a better bet.

I'm going for Walcott, as he appears to be improving steadily. The problem is RVPs status. If he goes, how will this affect Walcott? They seem to play really well together, especially the second half of the season.

It was a season of 2 halves for Gervinho. African Cup broke him mentally. And you are comparing a player on his first season with us, who played a draining cup competition mid-way, with someone at the club for 6 seasons. I can't be bothered to check but games played might be a little unrepresentative here because Gervinho wasn't a regular starter after he came back.

"Other things equal", yes, I do expect Gervinho to be a better player and contributor compared to Walcott next season, all the indicators were there before he went to the AC. He's better on the ball, and contributes more from dead plays. Shame there is still an African Cup next season though.

Gervinho for me. I think he had a touch of 'difficult first season in the PL' syndrome. A bit like Koscielny. Now he knows what to expect from the PL, I think we'll see more composure next season. Remember his first few games? He really was a breath of fresh air in that he actually beat defenders instead of turning around and passing backwards
