Peace And Co because I think he's a class act, and I think he can win lots of G1s this season. Faugheen will probably be to much for him at Cheltenham, but he can win all the English G1s.

Don Cossack, because he is an absolute monster and will destroy them all in the Gold Cup. He is by far the best chaser around, and I'm confident he will prove that in the Gold Cup

Difficult as I don't know which ones will be hurdling/chasing

Peace and Co, Douvan, Un De Seaux, Vautour, Djakadam and Faugheen are the ones I'm looking forward to seeing though

Nice thread Wooly! That's the difference between the Flat & Jumps, you'll never get Flat chat in the heart of the Jumps season :)

Douvan wins the Arkle. He's going chasing, and frankly he's in a different league to what he'll face wherever he runs in Ireland or in England. As Willie said pre the Supremes, we aren't worried who shows up and by God, how right he was :)

Yorkhill is one I can't wait to see over hurdles. Lowered the colours of a few highly touted animals at Punchestown including 2 of Nickys like he was swatting away a few irritating flies! Wherever he ends up he'll take some stopping.

Chaser - Coneygree to show that he isn't a 1 season wonder. I just hope he stays sound and can build on that most spectacular novice season.

Hurdler - It has to be Faugheen really, utterly dominant last season and we will hopefully get to see plenty of him this coming winter - seems like a horse who takes his racing well. I would like to see connections go for the Fighting Fifth / Christmas Hurdle / Champion Hurdle treble as this is a feat which is so difficult to achieve yet I really think Faugheen could do it.

MOON RACER- his bumper win at the festival is rock solid ! He looks some horse the way he powered up the hill he looks to be a cheltenham specialist! If he was with Mullins or Nicholls he would be a lot shorter

Chaser- DOUVAN im with you on this one beefy he looks class and seems to be a better hurdler than Vautour so exciting times

I would be very Suprised if The New One can find any sort of form that he has had the last few seasons , his injury was a career ending one I have a horse who has been retired due to Kissing spine it is very painful for them And wil take a lot of heart from the horse to come back 100% from it

Yeah can't be nice for the horse, but only time will tell. Would go for the World Hurdle if he where mine though, he's to small for fences, and to slow for anything over 2 miles in all honesty

Most intriguing horse for me is Vautour. A stone better that every other chaser in racing to my eye.

Douvan out of the novice chasers because he's shown so much potential.

One horse i will 100% be taking on this year over hurdles in the big grade ones is Moon Racer. I'm not convinced at all by his Champion Bumper win.

    I have to be different and not follow the crowd but here goes;

Really looking forward to seeing YANWORTH over hurdles. Tasty bumper form and in the right yard to come on a bundle when seeing a hurdle. I think he could be top class.

The chaser I am excited to see is VALUE AT RISK. Ok he disappointed at Cheltenham but he has always been the stamp of a horse that was going to do much better over the larger hurdles. Dan Skelton is a trainer going places and this horse will be one of his stars this season.

Honourable mention to HARRISTOWN who I have always thought was going to be a nice chaser. Had he been in the Pipe yard I think he would have jumped fences last year. Obviously he isn't going to be Cheltenham bound but he will give Brandon some great days out this season if his ticker can stand seeing him take on the big fences.

Looking forward to seeing Golden Horn in the supreme novices hurdle at HQ....

On a serious note though I agree with Beeforsalmon on Yorkhill over hurdles although I feel he will be seen at his true best when sent chasing.

Over the large obstacles it's a clear cut one to me and that's Douvan. Look forward to sighting him jumping a fence.

Yes VAR should really appreciate a fence actually, hard to remember some of these in the off season there's so many good ones to look out for but he has plenty of scope about him and looked a chaser even from his bumper day's here in Ireland.

The one that I’m most looking forward to seeing over the big ‘uns this term has to be, by some way, Mr Henderson’s MIGHT BITE. The 6YO son of Scorpion is bred in the purple being a half-brother to dual Grade 1 victor, Beat All. He didn’t make his debut until January due to a few niggling issues and immaturity but after a satisfactory outing, in a bumper, when looking as green as grass in the closing stages, he chalked up 2 very decent hurdle successes at Newbury and then Cheltenham. That terrible cliché ‘whatever he does over hurdles is a bonus’ certainly applies re Might Bite as he is a steeplechaser pure and simple. With another summer under his belt he should blossom and I would be very, very surprised if he doesn’t take high rank amongst this seasons novice chasers.

I think the juvenile hurdling scene will be exceptional this term but the hurdling recommendation for me has to be PEACE AND CO. Three out of three since joining the forum’s favourite trainer, Mr Henderson, he really couldn’t have achieved any more during the last campaign as he won a pair of Grade 2’s and then the big ‘un, the Triumph at the Festival. Wisely he then swerved both Aintree and Punchestown as unlike so many juvenile hurdlers he is a long term project not a one season wonder. Expect him to come on a ton prior to his seasonal bow and he has the added advantage of being tutored by the man with both ‘magic hands’ and a brilliant brain, Mr Henderson, God bless him and save him. Can go right to the very top.

I'll give you a race rather than a horse, The Cheltenham Gold Cup. For the last few years this race has been a bit underwhelming but this year could be an absolute cracker. Coneygree, Vautour, Don Cossack, Don Poli, Djakadam

Yanworth’s claim to fame thus far is inspiring an absolutely brilliant quote from Alan King (although not as fantastic as his one when the same owner’s Uxizandre had won the Ryanair) who seemingly does have quite complex ‘issues’ re the whole McManus operation.

Prior to his December National Hunt Flat outing he reported, ‘After this run I’ll talk to A.P., review the race, look at the forthcoming calendar of races and then decide in my own mind whether it be advisable to stay in bumpers for the rest of the season or go hurdling. But inevitably the owners racing manager will tell me what to do.’ The final sentance contained an awful lot of pent up aggression and bitterness!
