This is an extension of the "Is Lewis Hamilton underperforming in 2011" thread. I hope this isn't seen as a bbc606 driver x Vs driver Y my driver is better than yours thread.

So given Hamilton has speed but is inconsistent and Button has consistency but a quallifying deficit to Hamilton - which of the two british world champions do you think will end the season with the most points?

edit: If I have posted this right then your votes are not public.

I think they will be on equal points, but Lewis will pip him because of the extra win...

hard to say, Lewis has generally screwed himself over whereas Button has had all the bad luck yet still leads him, Lewis is naturally the faster, but his 'death or glory' driving is seriously compromising his WDC again. gonna be too close to call, but I hope it's Button just so I can imagine lewisWDC having a fit.

His head currently in a hard place; nonetheless, I predict Hamilton coming out on top by a small(ish) margin.

My best wishes to Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton: the best pairing on today's grid and probably one of the best teams since Jim Clark and Graham Hill. (Or Fangio and Moss!).

Yes, I think we should start seeing them as complementary parts of the same team and try to drop all the Jenson vs. Lewis stuff we always end up arguing about: they're both champions; they've both proved themselves; and Jenson has really come into his own since settling in at McLaren. I think a little credit is also due to Whitmarsh for making that happen.

Lews as he will want to retain his record of being ahead in the standings of all his teammates :)

Maybe a loss for Lewis against his teamate would be the best thing to have ever happened in his career. Maybe he will then stop ****ing around nearly every weekend.

Now the championship is over Lewis will drive much better now because there is no pressure, he can just relax and enjoy these races and look to next year. Jenson is always relaxed so nothing changes on his part.

Well Senna used to get soundly beaten by Prost, so maybe that's what Lewis wants. ;)

I've no idea who'll come out on top, it's so finely poised and the races are so unpredictable that's it's incredibly hard to judge. I want JB to come out on top (so he got my vote) because I like him more and everyone said he'd get destroyed by Lewis when he joined McLaren, I like seeing people proved wrong. :D

I voted Button, he has grown closer with the team, his calm attitude and the priority to maintain tyres has allowed the points to fall into his hands, he is consistent and this season I reckon that is what counts.
