Interesting topic on the Spurs board so I just thought as neutrals we could answer and this includes fans from other clubs as well. I know many people that believe Liverpool are the bigger club particularly those that grew up in the 70s/80s era of Liverpool domination. But many about my Dad's age believe United are bigger because United were far bigger in the 50s and 60s. These days because of the rate clubs change and grow I find defining club size pretty difficult and pointless but nonetheless Ill go ahead with this thread even if it does massage their egos. After all it's the ony reason they support these clubs
Liverpool obviously not far behind but the game is a lot harder now, what Fungus has done with United is remarkable.
Even when Pool dominated in the 80s, United were still considered the bigger club, drawing bigger crowds. We still got bigger crowds v United than pool
Has to be United. Similar amount of trophies of course but Liverpool have fallen behind a lot in the last 20 years in terms of success, world wide fan base, stadium size, ability to attract players, revenue and all that. Historically they are probably fairly even but here and now, United are far bigger and you have to take into account United's dominance has come during a time when English football has truely gone global.
The 'massive' club just struggled to beat hearts. 11 votes to your 1, the only people who think Liverpool are bigger than United are Liverpool fans. 4 of those 11 aren't Chelsea fans.
To be fair, I think the scum are currently a far bigger club than us. Isn't just about success, which we would win, the whole utd brand and revenue is ridiculous.
I would say united more successful club too. More league titles more FA cups and one EC/two champs leagues more worthy than five weak European cups. Liverpool beat weakish teams. The first strong side they played: juve 85, they lost to. Bruges FFS; worst real Madrid team of many eras etc
LF I love you but if that attracts them lot over here to start an argument I may have to re-word this
United are a far bigger club now. Liverpool are still a big club but not winning a title in the last 22 years has pushed them down the food chain .
