They all have different qualities which some people prefer more than others. I like Serie A for example but i'm not sure how many people would agree with me.

for cost, entertainment and competitveness its the bundesliga, dortmund are running away with it this year but that is unusual.

Cost is also amazing. Less to go and see a bayern game than a confrence game in england. Unbeleivable.

I used to like watching Football Italia with James Richardson a Saturday morning. Highlights from each game was enough for me and all the best players were based in Italy back then. Ronaldo went from Barca to Inter, whereas that would never happen now. But I could never sit through a full match.

English league for excitement and because of some of the players. However if you want skill: look to Spain.

I like the Spanish league because limited players don't try and break players legs. I was very sad when Nani got injured. It was not fair and I was appalled Ferguson never said anything about the horror challenge. For Nanis safety and career he should move to spain after he has improved his name at Utd because he deserves better.

    English Premier League obviously.

This shouldnt even be a poll

    La Liga is rubbish

Serie A is an embarrassment to football in so many ways. From corruption to cheating to riots.

French Ligue 1 is better than it was for all of the previous decade when lyon dominated it completely but its not brilliant.

German, 2nd best league in the world.

La Liga is on the same level as the SPL was a few years back. 2 clubs dominate it completely. There total dominace kills of the rest of the teams and kills off the game.

English league is superior in every single way. Only spanish* people and idiots think la liga is a good league.

    * thats if they support the big 2. Bet the rest are far from happy.

10 years from now, La Liga will be a forgotten league as half the teams go bust. They cant make any money at all.

the premier league is moving to the situation where sugar daddys rule

    that is hardly healthy

I would rather have the Glazers for the next 50 years than have a sugar daddy Medellin and changing our ideology

If anyone watched la liga 5-10 or more years ago you will be fully aware of how low the league has dropped.

At 1 point anyone of 5 teams could win the title and did. Games were thrilling.

Now its terrible. People bum the big 2 so much they are blinkered. PL, BL are both better.

I think you need to watch more La Liga games, I watch a lot of La Liga games and the "limited players" often go after the big names with wild challenges. I remember watching Valladolid against Real earlier in the season, every single time Ronaldo went near the ball they tried to take him out, one of the defenders even stamped on him off the ball. These challenges happen in most leagues, although I don't think any other nation publicizes them quite like the English press does (the same thing can be said about crowd trouble over the years but that's a debate for another day).

*edit* CLICK HERE to see the stamp I mentioned, it doesn't look like much but it is blatant.

And for the record I voted EPL simply because it has a bit of everything. La Liga is probably more technical but a hell of a lot slower overall (with a hell of a lot more diving). The Bundesliga is probably more tactical but again it is much, much slower. Then we have Serie A, I used to love watching Italian football when I was younger but the league now is just so damn dull, I would much rather watch the championship. The French Ligue 1 can actually be pretty entertaining to watch but lacks the quality of the EPL.

I would also say the Championship is a lot more exciting than some of the leagues mentioned. Its possibly not to far off the mark to say its better than some aswell ( italy lol ).

But yes, following on from what the poster above said, theres plenty of cheating, foul play and overall nastiness in La Liga and every other league.

I prefer the Spanish league, it has the better players and definitely the better style of football (I prefer passing/technical game over hoof and hope). Let's not forget in 15 years of Premier league football, only 3 different teams have won it. In the same 15 years in La Liga there has been 5 different winners.

Only the champions of the league matter at the end of the day.
If you base a league on how competitive it is, 6-7 French teams last year had the chance of winning the league with 7-8 games to go.

You do realised that since 1984 there have only been four seasons in which a team other than Real (11 titles) or Barca (11 titles) won La Liga? Compare that to the PL - since 1984 Man Utd (11 titles) and Arsenal (5 titles) have been the most successful teams, but another team has won the PL ten times over the same period. Over that same period there have been seven English winners, but still only five Spanish winners.

Also consider that Barcelona are the only Spanish team to beat an English team over two games in the group stages or knockout rounds, or in the final, of the Champions League since the 02/03 season. They've done it six times (Utd and Chelsea in 08/09, Arsenal and Chelsea in 05/06, Arsenal in 09/10 and 10/11). Over the same period, eight Spanish teams have been beaten over two games on fifteen separate occassions by English teams:

Atletico (Chelsea in the 09/10 group stage), Real Madrid (Liverpool in 08/09, Arsenal in 05/06), Villareal (Arsenal in 08/09, Arsenal in 05/06), Valencia (Man Utd in the 10/11 group stage, Chelsea in the 07/08 group stage, Chelsea in 06/07), Real Betis (Chelsea and Liverpool in the 05/06 group stage), Deportivo (Liverpool in the 04/05 group stage), Celta Vigo (Arsenal in 03/04) and even Barcelona four times (Utd in 07/08, Chelsea in the 06/07 group stage, Liverpool in 06/07, Chelsea in 04/05).

So whilst Barca may be the best team in the world right now, the rest of La Liga is nowhere near measuring up right now. And even Barca has had their fair share of defeats over the past seven years...
