So which position really needs strengthening? For me I think LW/LM is a problem and the choice of players who can play there is an issue. GT doesn't help himself by sometimes insisting on having a right footed player (wright) on the left and a left footed on the right, I know the idea of this is the ability to cut in, but it also makes it predictable. At least they should be encouraged to switch wings regularly.

So where do you think the issue is?

Central midfielder (hear me out) as an enforcer - we've got a lot of footballers but nobody in the defensive, disciplined D Mac role (even if he's not some kind of brick ****house) which I feel would go nicely.

midfield not creating enough chances for our forwards, and two many players blowing hot and cold in my humble opinion.....i cant blame GT he's doing it with one hand tied behind his back, and that reflects on his two last signings

Unfortunately we have problems all over the pitch but I would say left mid and a strike partner for Marvin are our biggest problems at the moment I would also like to see Taylor come back in to give us the possibility of getting behind defences with pace as he did for our best chance on Saturday. Perhaps Parry could switch wings or play down the middle behind Marvin.

When we first had both Ainsworth and Wright they used to repeatedly switch wings and it worked quite well to imbalance the defenders marking them.

Not a positional thing but we seem to lack pace and therefore our chances of scoring on the counter attack are limited.

We have to expect that plenty of opponents are likely to be stronger. They've been in this league longer or have spent more money. So we'll be short in all areas at times.

Goalscoring is an obvious deficiency - not overall because we've scored a few but 8 of our 11 goals were scored in 3 games and we haven't scored at all in 4. It's not just the strikers that need to start converting more chances.

Defence has been good overall. There have been lapses and I think that's sometimes been down to the midfield dropping too deep or losing their shape (as on Saturday when Ritchie lost Richards and created Swindon's goal).

    Goalkeeper's been excellent!

1 assume wrighty is a shadow of last season. surely he was one of our few main scorers last season and masked our ongoing problems up front

Having seen Wrighty three times this season I can confirm either his lack of confidence or he has been given a different job he's not up to. When he gets the ball his first instinct, this season, is to look around, then pass. He rarely tries to beat someone. Equally when he drops back to help out he seems uncomitted.
I am a great fan of his and feel sad about this......he could be a potential match winner six-eight times a season and provide chances in most matches.
What can we do? That's the royal 'we'......everybody from Roland to the fans.
