When the players come out of the tunnel, or just before, each club has an anthem that they play over the PA system. Palace have got 'Glad all over' (my personal favourite because of the crowd participation), Birmingham City have got 'Mr Blue Sky' (also brilliant), Leicester have got that god dammed awful 'hunting trumpets racket'.

Where have you been, where the 'anthem', has been really good and something actually memorable?

Do you by any chance mean 'Post Horn Galop' by Koenig Thai?
    West Ham also use it

I would imagine that it's a nod to the fox-hunting heritage of Leicestershire, (hence the nickname 'The Foxes'), and the famous (or infamous) hunts of the county, The Belvoir, Atherstone, Quorn, Cottesmore, and Fernie.

    Just to enlighten you!

The Everton song is an old song that was sung by children as a "Skipping" song and originated on Merseyside. The song became familiar when the BBC knicked it for the theme to Z-Cars! <ok>

My own personal favourite is the theme that Wolves use which is that old Reggae song that I cant bloody remember the name of! I'm sure one of you who are more knowledgeable will know the name of it!

....Oh and of course "You'll Never Walk Alone" played at Anfield! It just makes my hair stand on end! <ok>

At the risk of completely hijacking Thai's thread :emoticon-0102-bigsm I did a little...ahem... 'research'... and lookkee here!!

The Daggers have Poppiholla by Chicane <ok>
Exeter City have Seven Nation Army <ok> (I hope to hell it's the original, not that lame excuse for a cover which festered in the lower reaches of the charts for a while <doh>)

Sorry, Thai, what shall we talk about next? :emoticon-0105-wink:

A lot of the northern clubs have a decent selection played over the PA system in the build up to matches.
They certainly beat the hell out of our selection of tunes!

Lots of London Clubs play The Clash - London Calling which is a pretty fine song.
