We have obviously been rumoured to be interested in several players already. Which four do you think should be Bruce's priority, at what price, and what could our opening day line up look like. My choices in order would be...

    1. Jake Livermore (Spurs)...5 mill....knows our system...wants to be here
    2. Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea)...4 mill....our big weakness is LB....good reliable young player....can only get better
    3. Robert Snodgrass (Norwich)...4 mill....can play either wing...lethal on set pieces...an aggressive pest
    4. Ashley Williams (Swansea)...4 mill...dominating CH...would be great alongside Curtis and Chessie...

Sale of Figueroa could cut our outlays to 15 mill...well under 25 mill. reported budget....and leave room for extra striker.

Opening day line up could look like this if we sign these...

    McGregor

    Chester Williams Davies (Capt)

    Elmohamedy Livermore Huddlestone Meyler Snodgrass

    Long Jelavic

Subs...Harper Rosenior Bruce Bertrand Brady Aluko Fryatt

    Morgan 'Freeman' Amalfitano

    C'est formidable.

Not sure he fits in with our squad ethos if he is a sulky frog though.

    Snoddington for me.

Great end product and would give us a real threat from set pieces.

Our free kicks around the box are utter w**k and he'd improve that situation no end.

Not arsed about Williams and why would he leave Swansea?

    Would Bertrand come here?

Judge ye not lest ye be judged.

I reckon Brucey takes 'character and culture' into account. Something PB didn't do unfortunately with Marlon K and Jimmy B.

I reckon they also look at the stats (tackles, sprints, kms run) as they don't want shirkers or fancy dans.

Spectacular goals all you want but he likes a grafter and one who fits in.

    C'est tout.....

Aluko & Brady both better than Snodgrass for me, and only Brady could play that wing-back roll.

I think it's important we sign Jake, he was terrific all season.

    Livermore for obvious reasons

Bertrand - we really need a left back

    Richards - Absolute beast

Amalfitano - Need a bit off attack from CM with koren leaving

Could you buy a left back for 4 million then leave him on the bench?

Why is it every transfer window everybody always wants a new striker? We have two we just bought in January that scored plenty of goals, plus Sagbo, Brady (?), Boyd and Aluko who can play there, not to mention Fryatt who has been offered a new deal and young hotshot Johan ter Horst that's just signed. I'd have said it was the one place we didn't need to strengthen, otherwise you start getting people complaining about a lack of first team football. Plus, people keep complaining about a lack of youth coming through, so how are they going to get to the first team if we keep buying players in front of them?

Midfield and defence are the areas that need strengthening. Leave the striking situation until January if it needs to be altered.

agree, our midfield several time's last season was over run, team's came with the game plan of stop Huddleston playing his game and you stop city, we need other outlets in this area to share the load, for me game's are won or lost in midfield

Bertrand would get a lot of playing time as our first choice LB in a back 4 which will probably be our set up in a lot of games. We definitely need to upgrade in that position as it looks like Figgy is on the block and Dudge's fitness is still a question mark.

I'm almost certain we couldn't get him with Palace staying up but Jedinak would be perfect for us IMO, adding a bit of steel in the middle along with footballing ability

Had Palace gone down, I'd have snapped him up. Fer at Norwich looked quite handy but if we were to get anybody from them, it'd be Snodgrass.
