Never before has there been a less deserving reciever of MOTM. He had an uncreative, slow, sloppy, all round poor peformance. The pub I was in burst into laughter when he was named MOTM. Christ even Tommy Smith said to him 'Chin Up' when he came onto the pitch.

Otherwise not too poor a performance and nice to see a cup win for a change but as someone on the bbc sport page said ' a schoolboy forging a sick note to get off PE Cross country is more creative than QPR attacking'

Smith their full back I thought won it by a mile. Maybe SWP's Dad on ITV4 had a hand in it, although he was quite disparaging about us.

It's an unwritten rule that it goes to the winning team or losing team's goalkeeper.

    He wasn't that bad.

SWP had two good chances and he did gave that all important cornerkick from which gabby nodded in. I know SWP wasn't very good but he was dangerous to MK Dons time to time-

SWP should have been head and shoulders above the rest of the players out there tonight, but he failed to impress again. We had four players with previous premiership experience who were very average, the rest of the team were awful. I only hope transfers are forthcoming soon as they will need time to bed in. The ref wins my man of the match award

Did also want to mention that I hadn't seen us make so many wayward passes since pre warnock days

I'm no longer judging SWP against his former self becuase there is no comparison. I'm judging him against his team mates, most of whom were better than him tonight. Kenny kept us in the game at 0-0, Young reasonable at the back and better on the wings than either SWP or bothroyd, Buzsaky lively for most of the game and sent some decent balls into the box not to mention the through-ball from which swp should have scored or the free kick from which we got the corner, or Mackie, not the most gifted player but tried and importantly was always there first on an attack and more importantly he was always the first back to defend when MK Dons broke on the counter. Any of them were more deserving than a player whose touch was quite frankly worse than Fitz Hall's, whose pace was non-existent (its a sad day when you cant accelerate past Chadwick) and whose general attacking intelligence or creativity was next to none. Had he not crossed the ball for the goal, I'd have genuinely been surprised to see him given more than a 4 in tomorrow's sports pages

He may not have been brilliant, but he was so much better on the right and veering in through the middle than out on the left - like he was against Newcastle at home and villa. Hopefully that was noted. Running onto balls through the defence is his strength. Once he gets a goal like that, I think he'll be dangerous.

i thought he was bad but at least weve found something he can do and thats take corners.

Our set pieces were excellent, we threatened more in that game than we did in all of Warnocks games combined.

Shocked to get back from the game and find SWP man of the match - no way!
We were poor tonight, we need to get new players in desperately before the Wigan game.
Our midfield was non-existent tonight - for me this made SWP look worse than he probably is but he was poor. Late on he was involved in a couple of nice link up plays and would agree that his corners were better than Adel's (who we missed badly tonight) but no enough from one of our "big" players
For me Ferdinand was our best player by some way.
Yes the ball was greasy, hard to control and they pressed us hard but we should have had the quality to bring the ball down and pass it all around them, and win at a canter.
But well done MK Dons, you look a good team.
And at least I've seen us win at last this season!

Agree with this, our so called Prem players are very very average ones.

Couldn't agree more I thought he was woeful lost count of his misdirected passes and lack of composure in front of goal "we are talking about an England international here"?

Buzz was pretty good probably our best followed by Bothroyd & Mackie and although he didn't do much I thought Heider stuck out as as a class act when he came on held the ball well and past to one of our players.

Don't agree with the Ferdinand comment as being our best i thought he was average at best but thought Gabbiadon was pretty good not just because of the goal but had the confidence to carry the ball out of defence it was a pity that out movement in front of him was non-existant, basically that goes for most all over the pitch.

I was disapointed that we didn't put on a better display and wondered at times who were the league 1 team but MK Dons are not a bad team on a good run of form going for promotion and will obviously raise their game by 10% playing a prem team and we were there for the taking run of poor form, lack of confidence and without key players that we clearly are not able to miss, so all in all the result in my opinion was more important than the performance.

Have to agree there, Set pieces were much better , at both ends. This is something from the warnock era that was very poor and suprised me as he had spent so many years in the game I thought he would have mastered it, maybe that the difference between a motivator and a tactician?

Would have to say i think our defending has been more solid over the last two games. And if it hadn't been for hill falling asleep at newcastle and keeping the guy onside we could be talking about two clean sheets.

Did not think SWP was too bad last night and is at least getting in decent positions , must say i prefer him on the right. I have to say the old guard of derry , hill and kenny look slow, old and disinterested to me. They look like the players i thought we were getting 18 months ago. Whether its the manager going or what i don't know, these were all warnocks people and could be the first out the first team door.

Townsends quote amused me last night , ' can't see many of these playing in blue and white after the summer'.... reckon he is right. The only three i'd keep is Young , SWP and Ferdinand.
