As supporting Newcastle is a habitual descent into the deepest, darkest recesses of football depression, I thought I'd ask who you all think it'd be the most "fun" to support as a team?

The mid/lower Premiership teams are all much of a muchness and it's hard to see what joy can be found there unless you have an affinity (as in, this is the Toon's category!). At the top end, I guess being an Everton fan must be ok as expectations seem to be quite low every season yet they always seem to carry the tag of "surprise package". Tottenham must be more annoying, as just when you think you've finally done it (finished 4th, found Bale, pocketed £90m from selling Bale) something always seems to get in the way ('Arry, AVB, Levy). Liverpool must be pretty good - decent football, team on the up, one of the World's best in your side and a rich/varied history without quite so many hangers-on as you find in Manchester. The "big four" seem like a chore. The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge last weekend was kinda embarrassing considering a victory took them top of the tree. City's an incredibly unfunny joke of a club, the ruin of football, and Man U is so dilluted as to not really have an identity anymore - they're just a brand. Arsenal are the only ones who maybe enjoy the football, plus it's a nice ground, but suffer from Spurs syndrome of never quite being able to push on.

Maybe the right answer lies lower down the leagues - Leicester? Maybe even Yeovil, or Swindon? Perhaps being a Crawley fan's a good craic. Or maybe football is just a constant ration of achievement:expectation (so if you finish 8th, you expected 6th, finish 2nd expected 1st) thus are never really happy or satisfied. If that's the case, makes you wonder why anyone bothers.

Maybe supporting Gateshead isn't such a bad thing.

Got to say I don't gain much satisfaction from my club selling players for a fat profit or finishing a couple of places above where predicted. It's watching the matches, seeing the team play well and score goals that makes it worthwhile. That's why I can't get the gloating you sometimes see from fans of more successful clubs - it's always about who's further up in the league, and never about what fantastic football they're playing. If that's the kind of thing which floats your boat, of course it makes sense to support Chelsea or Citeh. The only times I get anything out of the league table is when we're looking at getting relegated or pushing for Europe. None of that is happening, so just watch the game!

If you like a laugh, maybe supporting Sunderland isn't such a bad thing.

I said it a few times on here but Luton Town have some of the most loyal supporters I've ever known. No fans in recent memory have had to put up the **** they have had to. I hope they get promoted this season as they deserve to after the countless **** they have had to endure. 40 points taken off them in two seasons, three back to back relegations, three back to back defeats in the playoffs, two in the final - one being on pens and horrible last season with losing to the likes of Braintree, Dartford, Hyde and also getting a 5-0 hammering of Gateshead if I'm not mistaken!

Most neutral fans would mate. A team of that size should at least be league 1. Christ I'm not being disrespectful but the likes of Morecambe, Accrington Stanley, etc who can barely get around 2,000 fans shouldn't be there at the expense of Luton. Jesus the likes of Lincoln, Wrexham, Grimsby, Stockport (look where they are now), Darlington (I don't even know what league they are in now), Kiddy and Cambridge all deserve to be back in the league (I won't say Barnet because its about time they suffered down in the conference for abit) There is no real difference between the top half of the Conference and league 2.

The leagues should have joined up a long time ago and become League 2 South and North respectively. It would boost attendance tremendously. The poor bastards that have had to travel from teams such as Bath or FGR all the way to Barrow and Gateshead have to travel ****ing miles and due to that often bring paltry support.

Talking about traveling miles, I bumped into somebody that travels to all the away games and he was telling me one of our supporters had paid to go to Chelsea with the Back Page and they'd changed the time of the coach and hadn't informed him.

He lost out on his ticket money, fare to the pick up point and of course the fare he'd paid to travel with them. You'd think a half decent company would reimburse him.

I'd be thinking twice before traveling with them now.
