Which boards are you banned from and why?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Sep 13, 2013.

  1. Just so that we can all get a handle on how rife (or not) this problem is, I want to see who is banned from where, and what the perceived banning "offence" actually was.

I'm banned from three boards, and was banned in the following order:-

    Liverpool
    Arsenal
    Chelsea

I've been banned from the first two for several years, with no indication as to when, or if, the ban will be lifted. I was initially banned from the Chelsea board, but then reinstated by popular vote, with DL promising to stand-by and honour the wishes of the majority who supported me. Despite that promise, I have, apparently, been banned again, with no explanation given to me as to why.

In each case, I appear to have been banned due to the intolerance of juveniles on these respective boards being unable to accept any form of criticism, or be able to handle any ribbing whatsoever. In neither case was I abusive or personally insulting to anyone; and despite the fact that (in each case) I had to suffer some of the vilest personal abuse I have ever had thrown my way in my life, those who engaged in that harassment of me still post to this day.

  2. It would also be useful if our mods would list those who are banned from this board, and whether, in each case, the ban is temporary, indefinite, or permanent.

I'm banned from the board of Amstrad. Something to do with sitting there and calling Sugar a fraud the whole time...

Where is this thread going HIAG?

Each board is moderated according to local rules if you visit another team's board then you have to abide by their rules.

    That's it!

  10. Simply want to get a handle on how endemic this disease is.

There appears to have been a spate of bannings gone on lately, with no explanations given as to why, and it is apparent that some people are very much in the dark.

Can't see why anyone would think there is some sinister motive behind this thread. I'm the least sinister person you could ever wish to meet.

Isn't it more logical that you managing to get yourself banned from 3 rival boards is an indication of a problem with you and the way you post rather than a problem with all 3 of those boards and there mods?

Plenty of posters frequent other boards and even have long and sometimes heated discussions, but they do it in a way that doesn't piss everyone off. This is something you should maybe work on and then you might find your not met with the same hostility but rather accepted into the odd debate?

I can tell you why. Because the Chelsea mods are afraid to confront the the more belligerent and aggressive posters. I won't name names, but I think any visitors to their board will know. A small group set their face against you posting and the mods (in their cowardice) decided to side with vocal and nasty minority. DL posted a very good thread asking for respect for fellow posters etc, but it was months too late. Whilst I visit occasionally, I will not be posting on there in the near future. Seems others take the same view, as it is like a morgue on there. Sow what you reap.

I also notice that banning someone from a board doesn't prevent them from posting threads about that person, who obviously can't respond. Poor modding imo.

I have not been banned from anywhere (yet)

Arsenal and Chelsea mods are very close and ultimately copy each other. HIAGs problems with Liverpool are more deep rooted <laugh>

Arsenals mods are pretty good, when they do something we disagree with we tend to very quickly get it over-turned or changed. And in recent times when someone has been a pest on our board it's gone to a vote as to whether we want them around any longer or not.

"HIAGs problems with Liverpool are more deep rooted" maybe that should read "HIAGs problems are more deep rooted"? :p

Exactly. You (HIAG) love winding people up, and it is admittedly quite amusing most of the time. But you also know that rubbing people the wrong way results in complaints. You can't have your cake and eat it...

I think there is a bit of a test to see how good mods are...the test goes like this...

Are there any Mods banned from other boards?

If you were going to have a dig you could have at least been more accurate. Bucks, Varier and I have discussed (privately) at length the constant arguments/WUM threads and what can be done to improve relations on the board. We publicly and privately contacted all of the regular posters on the board and explained our stance.

As for the second jibe, no idea where that's come from to be honest. I'm the only one that has been a mod for 6+ months, Bucks is on the other side of the world for the year and Varier has only recently been appointed mod. We rarely visit the Arsenal board and have no idea nor interest how they choose to run it.

Very easy for people to criticise from a distance when they aren't privy to all the facts. But anyway, this thread has achieved it's purpose and digs have been aimed at Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal mods as was its intended purpose, so I'll leave you to continue telling us how bad we all are at our jobs.

All I can say is "You can please some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the all time". We'll try to do our best, but it's impossible to keep everybody happy.

I wouldn't give some of the mods on the other teams boards the pleasure of banning me. I stay away for that reason only, and vent that frustration when they step out of line over here! <monster>

Fair enough on the second quote, I should have said posters, not mods. I apologise.

Forgive me if I don't take into account private conversations that I am unaware of, but I couldn't really, could I. What I do know is that myself and other non Chelsea supporters have been called all manner of things by a few of your posters and publicly I see no action being taken. As an example Watford R gets called Pikey regularly (and worse) and I don't see that being stamped on. Whenever I have read his posts he seems quite calm and reasonable. It may be ok to dish out unwarranted abuse on your board, but I'm glad it doesn't happen here.
