I'll change it if the structure isn't right. I also didn't want it to be an attack on the decision making as much as the overriding emotion given the current picture.
Sad to see Laudrup go as I had a lot of respect for Laudrup as Player and a Manager. I was wondering whether it would come to this a few weeks ago based on our form and abject displays. I think it's for the best.
It's odd... when other teams sack the manager I usually dismiss it thinking it's probably kneejerk or drastic but now it's my own I'm thinking about it differently. Edit: and look how it worked out for Southampton, I thought that was a crazy sacking!
My feelings are that in years to come this is the time and the decision I'll point to when discussing; How did it all go wrong.
My exact thoughts while pondering things quietly to my self last night terrorwitt , we will look back at this moment as where it all went wrong . And I'll be the happiest guy around if I'm wrong . There will be managers who won't come here now , knowing how the board operates , just an opinion
I voted for option 1 , purely because what I've read on here and other boards with" in the know " "wink wink " brigade statements gathering pace I'm not convinced that we've heard the truth of what happened . Resigned to maybe he was off in the summer and that I'd understand but we don't sack managers lightly so acceptant of the fact that the board acted in the best interest of the club, but the board's veneer of being honest has lost a bit of it shine regarding the Jenkins statement about not discussing the manager's position prior to his sacking .This will could be a defining moment in our history ,I just hope it's positive one .
Which ones? Can't see this happening. When you see (what I thought was a) smart guy like Solskaer go to Cardiff, then I can't see this happening. There is nothing in our history suggesting this will continue. Whis will be forgotten in a few weeks time (or a few days with a win next week)...
Yeah, I think this is a bit panicky, too. Chelsea, Newcastle, C.Diff, QPR, etc. all got managers in and their histories are all far worse than ours. If that really was the case, the talk from Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez will go some way to alleviate fears. They've never felt the need to criticise our board. And if anyone really does their homework, history will show this board doesn't sack lightly, but Laudrup has been sent packing a few times. The scales of brevity fall far more on our side than ML.
Difference with our board and the ones you name is ours must control the manager and transfers . As more of the truth at what and how it happened to Laudrup , say in few weeks , you might want to run this poll again
My vote went with option 3: 'It was the right thing to do given the form and we needed to move on before it was too late.' and that vote is currently the majority vote!................
Half those 3 rd option votes will be from guys who will back the board no matter what , and there is nothing wrong with that type of loyalty . Lets see how the truth unfolds in the next bit of time and take another vote , My guess it will be much different
You should put a list up of the names of those guys. I voted for the third option and I'm not one of them. He had to go primarily on poor form and no sign of that changing with games running out. It's a shame as he is a genuine guy but that's football, it's a results business.
