So, in what position does everyone NCFC will be in May 2019??? I can’t see us being any higher than around 10th – but who knows!!!!!
Well I don't think we'll get relegated nor do I think we'll get a top 2 spot. Other than that with so many players with great potential new to the first team squad it's really hard to tell. My heart says top 6, my head says top half with us still being in with a chance of a play off space right up to the last month of the season. So somewhere between 5 & 9, If I had to pick i'd say 7th.
Apparently this is what the bookies think, Many City supporters will be over the moon if they are right about Ipswich The 2018/19 Championship table - predicted by bookies 1) Stoke 2) Swansea City 3) West Brom 4) Aston Villa 5) Boro 6) Brentford 7) Derby County 8) Leeds United 9) Norwich City 10) Sheffield Wednesday 11) Bristol City 12) Sheffield United 13) Birmingham City 14) Wigan Athletic 15) Hull City 16) Preston 17) Blackburn 18) Nottingham Forest 19) Millwall 20) Reading 21) QPR 22) Ipswich 23) Bolton 24) Rotherham https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport...championship-table-predicted-bookies-14722289
That's exactly how I see it. I don't think Farke knows his best side yet, and I don't think we've even seen a first choice defence, or first choice midfield play together yet. I can see us taking a while to get the best out of our squad, as new signings take time to adjust too. With that, I don't expect us to be on the promotion pace for the first half of the season. My hope is we'll improve over time and maybe finish strongly enough to get into the playoffs. We haven't looked toothless in pre-season, but we have looked porous. If we can't up our level and tighten up whilst still scoring (and against better teams), I could see us anywhere down to about 18th.
I changed my mind 3 times, unsure whether we will finish upper or lower mid-table, had you put a 10-14th section, I'd pick that. Bah!
I chose 1 to 6 as we have bought so many unknown entities and kept most of our successful bargains like Zimmerman and Trybull as well as a crop of young youth prospects coming straight into contention, the excellent signings of Marshall and Pukki . Felix from Dortmund Rhodes the Dutch keeper. The Argentinean and Cuban wingers , Leitner on a permanent and a point to prove. Kenny McLean great for Aberdeen played with Maddisson so knows the standard. Can't help but feel up optimistic.
Well, with 14 votes cast, no one expects us to finish below 12th, so I guess we're all feeling quite positive for the season ahead.
True but if I had to name a single position for where we'll finish it would be 12th. I'm expecting a very modest improvement, mostly because I have little faith in Farke's ability to get us scoring without opening the back door. Hope I'm wrong but, I need some early evidence that he can take advantage of what I consider great business from Webber, great within our financial straight jacket. Bah!
Sky predict 14th...mind you, they predict Brentford for automatic promotion! http://www.skysports.com/football/n...on-where-will-the-24-clubs-finish-this-season
I purchased a copy of the Four Four Two Season Review magazine today which reviews 104 league teams from the premier league to Scottish Premier and their prediction for the Championship is: 1. Stoke 2. Middlesbrough 3. Brentford 4. Preston North End 5. Nottingham Forest 6. Sheffield United 7. Derby County 8. Leeds United 9. West Bromwich Albion 10. Blackburn Rovers 11. Sheffield Wednesday 12. Millwall 13. Swansea City 14. Aston Villa 15. Birmingham City 16. NORWICH CITY 17. Hull City 18. Wigan Athletic 19. Bristol City 20. Queens Park Rangers 21. Bolton Wanderers 22. Ipswich Town 23. Rotherham United 24. Reading I cannot believe they have placed us so low in the league even though we have lost players such as Madders & Josh. With some of last season's signings now with a year's experience of the championship such as Trybull, Zimmermann & Steipermann and players such as Leitner, Mclean, Rhodes, Marshall, Buendia, Hernandez, Pukki, Krul in the squad I believe we will finish a lot higher up the table. I also do not see Brentford as play-off contenders and think with their transfer embargo Birmingham will finish below us and Villa will struggle now they have to adhere to FFP rules due to failing to go up last season.
I voted 7-12. Based on hoping that Farke has learned from his mistakes. Was tempted to vote for the next lower option, because I don’t think Farke will change too much. My vote is based on the signings and the fact he’s been playing 2 up top pre-season. Good Thread JM.
Thanks everyone and some really good comments etc. I'd love to see us in the top 10, but as FML says, DF HAS to utilise some of the rather good signings that SW has brought in. Very interesting Jedi, but I'd be AMAZED if the table even looked even close those predictions. I saw something today that Villa have 'wriggled' free (STRANGE!!) of the FFP restrictions (large club/small club blah blah!!!) and have appointed Mendes to aid recruitment. #bewaretheinfluxofportugeseplayers
